Summary: Sometimes you will hear it said that recordings from the 1950's to 1970's, particularly orchestral and opera, are still competitive to those made today. And you can verify or dismiss this by simply listening to the recordings. In the audio world Klipsch is a prestige name from the past, just as the Cadillac name was to cars. The Klipsch Heresy is a continuation of the classic sound of yesterday. The sound is big, bold and dynamic.
Summary: The previous reviewer condemns these speakers for using mdf. This is a mistaken opinion. All fine wood bodied speakers are built using mdf, it has a resonant frequency which is predictable and well below twenty hertz. These are really efficient speakers, i.e. if one were using a smaller amplifier, like a single ended tube kit, these might be a reasonable choice.
