  • Summary: Many audiophiles bewail the so-called horn sound of horn loaded speakers. I cant speak for other horn loaded speakers (not that there are that many others) but these simply do not have the so called horn sound. They are very efficient and may have you reaching for the volume knob sooner than other speakers but the quality of sound will match any of the other highly touted brands like B+W or Magnepan. This is particularly true when one factors in the size of this speaker.

VERRY HAPPY

KYLE, Crutchfield
1 October 2013
  • Summary: I read reviews that stated they were lacking in bass response. I have no issues with the sound in any range. Granted I'm running a 12 inch Klipsch sub that pairs well with the speakers. I turned the sub off and still loved the range of the speakers. From Sarah Brightman to Slayer, these are great!
  • Pros: Great sound, classic looks.
  • Cons: none

Klipsch Heresy III: An improved version of the famous Klipsch Heresy

Horswispr, epinions.com
21 August 2013
  • Summary: Klipsch Heresy IIIs are efficient, dynamic sounding home speakers. They might be ideal for use with low powered tube amplifiers.
  • Pros: very effficient; updated connectors; dynamic, "in the room" sound; didn't sound bright like JBL L-100s
  • Cons: haven't listened over the long haul so I can't assess possible "listener fatigue"

The right speaker for my decware zen amp.

alainjoelgaleba, Ebay
2 April 2013
  • Summary: Needed a high efficiency speaker for a new decware zen 6 watt per side tube amp. I wanted the best I could get and got that for a price reduction that was greatly appreciated by me. These speakers are fine furniture grade pieces for my room. They are like timeless works of vintage art. The sound is crisp and expansive. I am thrilled to listen to my large collection of all types of music as if the band were in my room with me, no kidding simpley amazing.

Best deal for the money

Code Monkey, Amazon
13 April 2012
  • Summary: I have owned Heresy's since 1975, in 1985 I bought the Heresy II's and this year I bought the Heresy III's, they just keep getting better, they have a full presence and spatial displacement like nothing else in their price class. I got 20 years out of my last pair, this pair, probably the same, the handcrafted quality is apparent, the sound, even at low volumes is incredibly clear.

There's nothing else like Klipsch

John T. Price, Amazon
8 April 2012
  • Summary: I own a pair of these Heresy's (I bought used, not from Amazon) and I can say they are the best speakers I've ever owned. I've had Advents, JBLs, Electro Voice, Altec, and several other lesser brands. There is just something about Klipsch that keeps me coming back to them. First, the sound. The horn loaded tweeter and midrange are both exceptional. Unless you've heard something similar, it is hard to envision just the amount of difference they make.

These speakers rock!

Badtone, Amazon
30 March 2012
  • Summary: OK; the Heresy III speakers are a love/hate entity. I love them; the supposed lack of bass is overcome by placement against the back wall, near a corner, at least for me. They will never "thump", but bass tones are apparent, strong and clear. More importantly, the sofa is vibrating righteously as I'm listening. These speakers have plenty of punch. The high frequencies are clear and balanced well.

Retro-sound Dressed Up

Meow Tomcat, Amazon
28 March 2012
  • Summary: Sometimes you will hear it said that recordings from the 1950's to 1970's, particularly orchestral and opera, are still competitive to those made today. And you can verify or dismiss this by simply listening to the recordings. In the audio world Klipsch is a prestige name from the past, just as the Cadillac name was to cars. The Klipsch Heresy is a continuation of the classic sound of yesterday. The sound is big, bold and dynamic.
