Summary: In the end, hope will not make this thing work. I gave it two weeks and many hours of connecting, reconnecting; updating firmware and re-updating; powercycling, restarting, resetting; reading manuals and web forums; FAQs--you name it. Today, after trying everything one more time it held a connection for 45 minutes then my heart broke as it went back to the usual dropouts and eventually lost the speaker entirely. Sad because when it was connected the sound was impressive.
Summary: I purchased this product as 'new' in early September 2013. It arrived promptly in brand new condition. It found my network easily and it sounded so good I bought another one on Amazon a month later. In mid November it stopped working and would not reset, so I contacted Klipsch via email describing the problem. They said it sounded like a problem with the unit and to send them my invoice.
great sound; doesn't stay connected. product discontinued.

Summary: Bought the Klipsch G-17 a little over a year ago. The sound is terrific, though i'm no audiophile. Unfortunately, the WiFi connectivity via AirPlay - which the only reason to buy it - is just plain terrible. Best case, I'm power cycling the unit several times/day as it disappears from my iTunes speaker list. Worst case, I'm reinitializing the unit using the iPhone app once/month. Was hopeful with every successive iTunes update that the problem would go away. Nope.
Summary: The G-17 is not at all worthy of the Klipsch brand. Approximately 80% of the time, it either cannot connect to the wireless network, or when it does decide to work, it cuts in and out until you get so angry, you want to throw it in a fire pit. There are other superior airplay or bluetooth speakers out there. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.
Summary: It seems there is a recurring theme among the negative reviews: it sounds awesome when it works. That, however, is for mere fleeting moments in between long AirPlay cutouts. I've tried 3 (seriously, 3!) different ones because I was sure each time something was technically wrong with the speaker. Nope. I tried different rooms, different devices, different Wi-Fi networks, different outlets, different apps. I was never able to get it to play for more than about 15 seconds.
Summary: When I bought this, I saw about ten really positive and two negative reviews. The negatives were both centered on AirPlay and how it didn't work. I figured, they must be doing something wrong. I work in IT, I should be able to make this work, right? Nope, should have listened. AirPlay is totally unreliable. Spits, pops, sputters..drops out for seconds, or tens of seconds at a time. Doesn't matter where it's located - right next to the router, or across the house.
