  • Summary: Smooth sound...crisp, clean highs. Decent midrange, above average bass. These need huge break-in time...probably 200 hours. Be very patient....these will last forever...just dont crank these up until after break-in period...200-300 hours.

Nice upgrade from my older KEFs

Killersax, Amazon
11 December 2012
  • Summary: These are replacements for my much-loved KEF 103.2's and cost $100 less than I paid for the old speakers in 1985. They're much better. They have that smooth, natural, slightly laid-back KEF sound (e.g. not in your face like Polks) but they reveal much more musical detail than the old speakers.

  • Summary: A few years ago I purchased a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 8.2 speakers based on a WhatHiFi review and was very pleased, especially at the clearance price of $150 a pair. As funds permitted I decided it was time for an upgrade and turned once again to WhatHiFi for guidance.

  • Summary: The first thing I noticed about the new Q Series, opening the box, was that unlike KEF speakers I bought a few years ago the Q300s were not nicely wrapped in a cotton bag like a pair of expensive Italian shoes. I also noticed the wood used for this speaker is of lower quality compared to e.g.

Got KEF?

cmptrwiz, Amazon

  • Summary: Very happy with these KEF Q300s, easy to hear why they've won so many awards! They are not fully burned in yet yet still sound very good (only another 180 hours to go!). A friend from college had a pair of Reference 104a/b KEF's from the early 1980's they were the best speakers I had ever heard.
