Summary: I purchased these on sale for $499 from KEFDirect after reading so many great reviews on them. They are plugged into a Yamaha RX-A1040 and then connect to my PC via optical. First impressions.. Build Quality and Finish: They are slightly bigger than I expected based on the dimensions (14.0 x 8.3 x 11.9 in.). I was, however, coming from more angular speakers so the fact that these are very boxy probably added to the feeling of them being larger.
Summary: Picked up a pair from Amazon about a month ago, and have since played them regularly in music and movie playback. Following a hundred hours or more of playback, I think my ears have seasoned to KEF's sound to offer comment. The L/R bookshelves are mated with KEF Q600C, which itself is utterly fantastic.I cannot say enough about the attributes of the concentric woofer/tweeter design, at least in my space. The soundstage can be cast deep and wide, with crystal clear voices...
Solid Well Built Just like B&W In Fact Probably B&W's Competition
16 February 2014
Summary: Excellent sound completely blew away any RB speaker Klipsch makes,in fact the only speakers at Best Buy that sounded about the same were the B&W's.Only drawback like B&W these Kef speakers suck up power.A 50w tube amplifier per channel no problem,i would be on the safe side if using quality solid state like Rotel Nad Adcom Musical Fidelity or along those lines at least 100w per channel. The only reason i did not give them five stars is the Kef Bookshelf Speakers for...
Summary: I am Running these with a Qinpu A6000 Mk2, and these sound great. For a small room these are more than enough. The only reason that I took a star off was for the Q Driver, in a small space the qDrive seems to negitivly affect the sound stage (compaction). But these are much beeter than any thing else I auditioned in the price class range. I would also like to mention that when I am not critically listening these sound great.
Compared to Paradigm Studio 20 and Rogers Sound Sound Lab CG4's
7 November 2011
Summary: I auditioned the Paradigm Studio 10's and 20's ($1400/pair) and the KEF Q300 ($629/pair) and the Rogers Sound Lab CG4's ($500/pair). I like the sound of the Paradigm 20's the most, but the KEF's have the best imaging hands down. Instruments appear in 3D space left, right and between the speakers. There was an annoying sharpness to the treble with the KEFs until after about 120 hours of use and that went away and the sound stage became even more solid.
Summary: I was looking for a pair of bookshelf speakers in the $500-700 range and narrowed my search down to the Monitor Audio Silver RX-1 and KEF Q300, which I found based on the review from "What? Hi Fi." I decided to take a chance on the KEF due to it's uni-Q driver, larger size, and weight. I burned the speakers in for approximately 60 hours before any critical listening and I am driving them with a 125 watt/channel Parasound New Classic 2125.
Summary: Bought these to deal with a location issue in my livingroom about 6 months ago. Their imaging is absolutely first rate...honestly better than the very much more expensive and sizable DynaAudio towers they replaced and DCM's prior to those. They offer big sound in a small package. Sound quality is terrific with one exception....the treble/high end can get a bit too pronounced and a bit splashy. Still for the money and considering their size...they are an absolute steal.
Summary: Gesammt **** Klang ***** Verarbeitung ** Unterschiede je nach Aufstellung und Verstärker ziemlich deutlich.
