Summary: Did a lot of research on these on a major audio/video forums, and read the reviews here on Amazon. These truly do sound better than their price bracket would indicate. Powering these with a Pioneer Elite SC-65, in pure direct mode they sound amazingly good. Haven't done any room correction yet with the receiver, as I am waiting for my new subwoofer and to bi-amp (controversial I know) them. They look far nicer in person than pictures show.
These are fine instruments, not speakers! Very lively, detailed, paced, and timbrally accurate sound. Gorgeous to behold too!

Summary: Length:: 1:48 Mins I recently read all the positive online reviews of the JBL Studio 530, and couldn't wait for the price to come down more. I just HAD to have a pair of true horn-loaded speakers in my stable, having lusted over these for weeks! I could tell there was something special about these speakers, just by some of the passionate reviews, as well as the British 'WhatHiFi' magazine 5 star review (I also considered the DALI Zensor 1 or Zensor 3).
Summary: Here's what I can add. Over the years I've always wondered why is it that recording studio post production folks would be okay with releasing masters with irritating vocal sibilants. You know the ones that make you cringe when they scream out at you from the upper midrange/lower treble. Anyway, what I've discovered with this monitor is that evidently I was wrong about many of there post production choices.
Summary: I have been listening to them for almost a month now, and I have to agree with the other reviewers that the compression driver horn is pretty impressive for its performance. My previous pair is a small JBL Control 1 pro. With the 530, I noticed the sound wasn't beaming compared to the C1P, the sound 'fills' the space, which is a surprise for me.
Summary: I have been in search for a great bookshelf speaker for a reasonable price and have been buying and trying many inexpensive highly rated speakers for some time. Inexpensive means different things to different folks. In the audiophile community inexpensive means less than a thousand dollars a pair. These are on the high side of budget pricing. The recent $369 pricing on the Studio 530 made these a screaming bargain and I bought a pair here without ever hearing them.
Summary: These speakers are a great match to my Studio 590s. When I first bought them I listened to them by themselves and they sounded great across the entire audio spectrum. You could use these without a subwoofer if you really wanted to.
