Summary: These speakers are a great match to my Studio 590s. When I first bought them I listened to them by themselves and they sounded great across the entire audio spectrum. You could use these without a subwoofer if you really wanted to.
Summary: very beautiful looking .I played two channel music through my receiver and herd different things on the music I always listen to that I never herd on my old speakers, take my word spend a little more on the speakers you want, and you'll enjoy them more .the jbl studio 530s are great.
Summary: I am impressed with the compression driver. The sound is accurate, airy, and has a wide presence. Using these for surrounds in a 7:1 arrangement. Plenty of low end for my use with Multi Channel SACDs and great sounding mids and highs.
High quality, fantastic imaging, soundstage, and clarity

Summary: I just received these speakers today. Incredible imaging and soundstage when placed properly. Nice full sound, bass is impressive. DOES NOT SOUND "HORN LOADED". Speaker is pretty ugly with grill off though. These speakers are well worth the price.
Summary: This set produces an incredibly clean sound. I used to own another JBL Studio series set, and thought that I will never find a worthy replacement. Well until now. They need a few days to break in or you may be quite disappointed at the sound straight out of the box. Let it run for a few days and then decide. There is a reason why they come with a bass muting pads that you can insert into the ports to limit the bass output a bit.
Summary: These are amazing. I'm an audiophile on a budget; it's almost a contradiction - almost. I'm picky, yet discerning on my tastes and a bit stingy when it comes to spending. I'll take a minute in hopes that if we're in a similar situation, this may be of help to you. I've either owned or have qualified the following: Dynaudio Excite, Totem Bookshelves, Epos ELS3, Bose, KEF Q series, Usher, Nola Boxer, Cambridge Audio,.. then some.
Summary: Took me a while to write this review. In fact, I deleted my first one as it's only been just a few weeks. It's now been a few months of listening, absorbing the nuances; having contemplated the characteristics, I finally think I've grown to learn something behind the science and art behind these particular speakers.
Summary: The Studio 530s are an incredible value for sound and build quality. I purchased these based on internet reviews and am extremely satisfied with the decision. Compare reviews from Whathifi on the Studio 530, B&W 685, and KEF Q300. The clarity of the 530s is superb across all frequencies. After a break-in period of about 60hrs, the compression drivers have never sounded harsh. I am particularly sensitive to harsh high freqs., and the 530s are never fatiguing.
Summary: I purchased these speakers for use in an office system and they have been an excellent speaker for the money. I have used several small stand mounted speakers including Totem Rainmakers, Totem Mites, Triangle Comets, and Vienna Acoustics Hydens in my office system and the JBL's sound better in most respects. My main system consists of higher end American made products, Escalante Design Speakers, Cary tube amplification with a First Sound tube preamplifier.
