Summary: Nice quality speakers that sound excellent. Driving them with my NAD 2600A power envelope which is 150w rms per channel, 4.7 db dynamic headroom, and has a large current capability. The only complaint I have with them is the fact that they ARE inefficient.
Summary: I'm no audiophile, and don't really have anything to compare these with since I did direct upgrade from stock TV speakers to these. But the sound I get out of these is simply amazing. And they look boss.
Pros: AMAZING sound out of these speakers, yes I bought two of them (on sale about 180 days ago for $149 each). Night and Day difference between sound coming out of my flat screen TV's puny stock speakers.
Summary: I bought two of these, and am running them as stereo speakers, not as part of a surround sound system. The sound is amazing. I haven't tried turning them up particularly loud - I think I'd get kicked out of my apartment before I got anywhere close to max volume.
Pros: Sound Amazing Sturdy crazy cheap (they were cheap at $150. now they're $126!)
Cons: none really. pretty heavy, but that's part of being a sturdy high quality speaker
Summary: These babies rock. Could not be happier with the price/performance. I run a large SVS sub-woofer, but I can still hear the bass in these. JBL has some fine products and this is one. Would recommend to anyone. Shipment was fast and the speakers arrived with no damage.
Summary: Some don't like the look of the speakers I don't mind it, and they are growing on me. These speakers are heavy be careful un-boxing them. Summary: - excellent sound - risk of getting a unit with cosmetic damage - heavy
Pros: Speakers sound excellent. They produce good base and clean sounds in the mid and high ranges (I'm not an audiophile, my subjective assessment).
Cons: One of the speakers came damaged on the top left corner. It definitely did not happen in shipment as the box was completely undamaged. It was minor damage to the plastic and the corner of the speaker box. As I was using these in a bedroom I did not RMA. I fixed most of the visible damage with glu...
Terrific Sound, Attractive Design, But Mediocre Materials

Summary: Once again, let me just reiterate that for the price (probably anywhere under $150), the JBL Studio 190s are likely the best value currently out there for fairly decent quality speakers.
Pros: Very nice price at under 119.99 each (shipped). Attractive modern design. Exceptional sound quality for the price.
Cons: Not the best materials for the cost. -The cones could definitely be a little higher quality (simply look and feel cheap, but does not seem to distract from the audial quality), even with the price as it were. -The dust caps suffer from the same issue as the cones. -The speaker feet are very plain...
These speakers will expose the weak parts of your system

Summary: If you provide these speakers with the requisite level of components, you will then understand the true meaning of audiophile!
Pros: Purchased these speakers a little over 1 year ago. As a previous owner of JBL speakers, L26's many years ago, I was familiar with the JBL sound. These 190's did not disappoint! Crisp airy highs and thunderous lows with a fast attack that makes rock and modern music sizzle. Yet, put on some classi...
Cons: These speakers will expose flaws in other areas of your system. It exposed the horrible truth about surround sound receivers (typically those retailing for less than $2,500); they have distortion figures that are worse than the cheapest stereo receivers of just a few years ago. If you have the 19...
