Generally good but different to previous JBL system
1 February 2012
Summary: Before I start I would like to say that the sound from this system is pretty good, certainly for the price. JBL is a pedigree for speakers. The sound quality and level are good in a relatively large room - 7m x 5m. The one thing to note is my previous JBL system linked all the speakers from the sub woofer - THERE WAS NO NEED FOR A RECEIVER. THIS PRODUCT **NEEDS** TO HAVE A RECEIVER for the centre and back speakers.
Summary: Due to the considerably low price, I was a bit skeptic about the quality of this set, but being a very happy owner of a great JBL LX60 "vintage" speaker set, I decided to give them a try. I couldn't be happier! Very small good looking monitors, great sound and projection, and the sub woofer is simply amazing! (better than a hi-end Yamaha Servo I previously owned) You cannot go wrong with this set. Period.
Summary: These are unbelievable! I thought I was buying these until I could afford a more expensive set. Unless you live in a mansion these will do everything you ask and more... in fact you will never hear the full potential as they really are that loud! I live in a rear ground floor flat with no neighbours above or the sides of me. The bass rumbles the whole room like an earthquake.
Excerpt: Having been 'asked nicely' by my girlfriend after we moved in together to get rid of my floorstanders, I began the hunt for a good 5.1 set with and due to having just bought my first house - an incredibly small budget. I came across this set of JBL's which passed the girlfriend test (looked OK and weren't too big!) and came in within budget.
