Summary: Well......for those who have these speakers you know how good they sound right???? let me tell you that i had the oportunity to open the spekers and to my Surprice i saw crappy components in the crossover net works. I just can not understand how come crappy components can make this brute to sound so good??? anyway...i found a video of someone who is going to upgrade the crossover with better components... here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?
Summary: Love these speakers. To bad they don't make them anymore! I have the set of "studio series" matching speakers, and love the look as well as the sound. These are very efficient speakers, and bring out everything. I especially enjoy them for music, but they are also incomparable for heart-pounding movie scenes when paired with the center channel studio series speaker!
It can be next to the top high priced speakers easy!!!

Gioxtream.
Summary: Unlike its little brother, the JBL S310, which is a great speaker, JBL really turned it up a level producing the high-quality, d.j.PROFESSIONAL JBL S312BE STUDIO SERIES. THIS PUTS OUT 250 WATTS, LIKE ITS YOUNGER BROTHER, BUT MADE THE BASS 2" LARGER, ALL BUILT WITHIN A CABINET THAT STAYS STILL AT PEAK LEVELS OF PERFORMANCES! THE HIGHS, MIDRANGE, AND BASS JUST POUND OUT SUPERB QUALITY MUSIC.
Summary: I purchased a pair of these speakers with a JBL 12" sub and I'll have to say that my music never sounded so good. The resolution and presence is incredible! As for movies, the depth charges in U-571 just about blew out our windows.
Summary: These are by far the best speakers for the money. I paid $450 for the pair delivered and they sound incredible. I have the all JBL Studio series speakers running through an Onkyo 701 home theater receiver -- what a combinaton. They sound great for both movies and music! I highly recommend these speakers.
Summary: The clarity and definition of the sound from these speakers is favorable over most anything at this price piont. You may even be able to find these for a little less if you search around online. The build and construction is top notch and each speakers comes in at around 50lbs. I do suggest that you purchase a separate sub in order to get that room shaking base you'd want in a quality home theater.
Summary: Speakers sounded clear with deep bass.Blew tweeter before first year was up ,have a relativly high powered system (within rec specs). After placing order 4 months ago I am still waiting for part from jbl.Owned several types of jbl's including L100Ts and s -412's and loved them all.FOLLOW UP-for do it your selfers when ordering a replacement part from jbl a copy of the reciept is needed.after misunderstanding on my part cleared up customer service was outstanding.
Summary: I was pleased with the sound from these speakers. I only give 4 stars because the screen is flimsy and the plactic prongs break easy. JBL is not very customer friendly, but the price is right. I bought 2 of these for $510. Suggest you look around online.
Summary: I have the studio surround system with the s312II mains, studio center, and s38 surrounds. It sounds great together, and anyone who purchases these towers will not be disappointed; they rock! I've been eyeing this line for a couple years when the original s312's came out and they were always outside my budget. Now I finally have them, and I couldn't be happier. I don't care what anybody says about HTIB's with their tiny satellite speakers.
