Summary: I have had this for more than 6 years. Hardly ever go anywhere without it. Also for years when not traveling with me it is hooked up to my computer, iPad or roku in my kitchen. Everyone that comes into my kitchen is amazed that ths one little JBL portable speaker produces what they are listening to. Next, I am going to try the Bluetooth Version for my office.
Summary: I had given mine [that I had had for years] to a new girl friend to use on the computer I gave her. Lost the girl friend, the computer and the JBL On Tour. When I finally remembered the name, I looked on the JBL site. [no longer available] then found it on Amazon. Since I do not have a TV, we watch movies on my laptop with the strong JBL sound.
Summary: I bought mine in 2008 after a long search and they have really held up. I use them for my laptop and with my iPods around the house - on trips - and in the yard around the lawn chairs. They are compact - fold up nicely - look good - are well made. And they are pretty dang loud and have decent bass if you are in a confined space, like my kitchen. Out in the yard, these sound a little thin.
Summary: I love these speakers. I've owned a JBL On Tour for almost two years until it broke due to repeated accidental yanking of the cord, but I bought a replacement because it looks slick, it sounds good for its size, and can be had for half the "normal" price if you search hard enough. A springy cord would be a good improvement for those of us who install these speakers on a bicycle.
Summary: I am not sure if you can buy this JBL product any longer. This little speaker does a great job. It will not get so loud so as to drive you out of a room but it does a great job and travels very well. The volume is great for music inside or out - used at the beach and in the house.S/N is vey low and the batteries I use are rechargable - I get about 20 hours out of the batteries at a med volume level.

Summary: Okay, they're not tiny-tiny but certainly travel size. The case is about the size of a hardback book and easy to pack in the suitcase. This was recommended to me by a sound engineer from Harmon Kardon (a friend) and he was right--this is one powerful set of speakers for the size! Great sound quality, too. I travel a lot for business and this is an essential part of my luggage. Turns a hotel room into a party!
Summary: I've owned these speakers for a year and a half now and have never had a problem with them. I love the option which allows for AAA batteries or straight DC connection. The sound is good enough for anything I need and will fill up a good sized room. The only things that I find problems with is: -While the speakers turn off if you close them, to turn the speakers off while using DC power, you need to unplug the speakers to be able to actually close it.
