Sound quality not as expected; why are ratings so high?
1 June 2010
Summary: I was surprisingly disappointed with the On Tour. I did an extensive amount of research on portable speakers for an iPod and expected the sound quality to be excellent based on reviews...not the case. I highs and mids are good and full, but the bass strength and tones are lacking.
Summary: I am going to return this product. It is compact, simple and light. I like it how it looks. But it does not pick up sounds as much as I expected, especially higher ranges. The violin sounds thin and poor, coming from far away.
Summary: I got these when Amazon sold them for $40. The pros and cons are as follows: Pros: - Nice design, portable, 110/220 v hence good for overseas use too. Cons: - No bass to speak of. - If you don't put in batteries the AC powered speakers require you to hit the volume button multiple times.
For treble lovers - NOT for bass listeners. Poor ergonomics

Summary: I've had this for quite awhile now. While these portable speakers do look nice... to be honest, overall, I wasn't entirely blown away by it. This speaker is definitely treble over bass. If you listen to classical/piano then you will LOVE the clarity on this. The treble is quite high.
Summary: I waited for almost a week to receive these speakers and was anxiously awaiting them.Unfortunately, they were defective. They would not play on batteries because the little spring was squished behind the plastic and so, could not make contact with the batteries.
Excerpt: These speakers are a great product but it has limitations. I use them while playing talks to a group of people in a hall. I have used them with small groups (under 30) and larger groups as well (over 50).
