Summary: I have the studio L880 speakers and use this as the centre channel in a 3 speaker HT system without a sub. Although the L880s have excellent dispersion, this speaker really brought more life into voices and dialogues. They have the typical JBL build quality and feel rock solid and weigh a ton too. It's always good to get timbre matched speakers, but even if you brought this as separate centre channel you won't be disappointed.
Summary: As I mentioned in my review of JBL L830, I upgraded my stereo system from a 2.0 to 5.0 (living in an apartment, I have held off on a sub-woofer for the time being). As I was previously in a 2.0 configuration, I did not have a center channel, and with the TV audio disabled, these two had to brunt both dialog and acoustics. Summary: This unit is night and day better than my old cheap center speaker. I still remember the day that I bought that old speaker and just didn't have a lot of money to spend at the time. It would have been better to have bought a better center speaker as it is the most important surround speaker. I'd love to give this a 5 star and it's really more like 4 1/2. But it still is not a perfect sound to me. It sounds just ever so slightly tinny or like through a cone...
Summary: I used it together with my pair of JBL L830. These speakers work together perfect and provide excellent sound quality for the price. (I paid a little bit more than $500 for all 3 pieces). The only drawback of this speaker is the size. It is not that easy to setup with LCD panels.
