Summary: I've had a pair of JBL L200B speakers since the late 1970's. Decided to stick with JBL for the home theatre.. Sure glad I did. Didn't really spend any time doing side-by-side comparisons with others; Just read reviews and went for the gusto. Excellent vocal and instrumental reproduction. Bottom end not quite like the L200's but close. Matched with LC2 center, L8400P sub and LS360C surrounds.
Summary: I've owned a pair of L890s since 2007 in my main floor family room. These speakers sound great for home theater or in stereo for music. There is tons of bass and they can play very loud without any audible distortion. I have them powered by a Harmon Kardon AVR 3600 and rated at 85 watts I can't turn the dial up past -15db or it is uncomfortably loud. These are more sensitive than most loudspeakers.
Summary: I was going to spend $1500 to $3000 on a set of new speakers (have had a pair of Boston Acoustic A400s for about 30 years)but when I saw these were about half price on Amazon and I love the JBL system that came with my car I decided to spend a lot less and am not disappointed.A few observations....because these speakers have a tweeter and super tweeter, I expected them to be very bright and I like Bright speakers.
Summary: I was putting together a new two channel stereo system. Had champagne taste on a beer budget! Picked up a top quality receiver (hard to find nowadays) and matching CD player. Speakers stumped me as I like most music from Jazz to Rock and had to keep the peace by not going overboard price wise. I go way back as an audiophile and have had a number of top named/performing speakers in the past. Never had JBL's though.
Summary: I will say that I am only running 140 watts to them right now and they are crystal clear with very good clean bass, they rattle the walls on the other side of the house. That being said since they can handle a lot more power I was considering bi-amping them that is until last night when I had a few friends stop by and I happened to be standing near the door otherwise I would not have known they were there, when they can into the house they stated they could hear the...
Summary: JBL has been a favorite speaker of mine for years. I wanted to upgrade my audio system and chose the L890CH towers because they matched my JBL center channel. The system sounds great, the highs are very clear and the mid range and bass are excellent. JBL speakers are quality speakers, the cabinet finish is excellent and the components are top notch and provide a great sound.
