Not only do the speakers sound good, they look good too.

Summary: I had some annoying shipping issues but the speakers are great. I seek fidelity in a speaker over "loud" but they are powerful enough for almost any application. These speakers have a frequency response the goes beyond my hearing range. Even so, I actually enjoy the difference over my previous pair. I will purchase the matching center speaker. They look great with or without the snap on grill. The grill attaches such that rattle won't occur.
Summary: Having now retired I again (first time since before kids) have time to listen to music. Unfortunately, cranking up my 80's Altec-Lancing speakers revealed the woofers had deteriorated and sounded terrible. A good bit of searching lead me to these L880s. When they arrived I fired them up and gave them a run with Hendrix, Canadian Brass, Mozart, Pink Floyd, Beethoven, Deep Purple and the like.
Summary: the only thing is that the shippment of the speakers where not so good, \the box became open, buy everything ok, i could fix something in the speakers, their sound is amazing its like to have the singer live in your house, i also have a subbwofer velodyne that give a deep bass to the sound everything excelent.
Summary: I love this product. Cannot rate it high enough. Thank you all for the response posted before me. I've always loved JBL speakers. How is it I am a bigger fan now? These are the best. My friends come over and love the look. Then ask how they handle. I give them my wifi code and let them DJ. They are amazed and sold right then and there. They turn it up loud afraid to go all the way. So I turn it all the way up for them.
Summary: L880 is the greatest speaker I ever owned. Unfortunately it proves all my past purchases of entry level speakers like Sony, Yamaha, and Polk Audio in last 10 years are a kind of waste of my money. I know there are a lot of higher end speakers in the market but in my opinion, L880 is the best speaker with "reasonably high price tag".
Summary: I bought the JBL speakers (JBL L880)a month a ago, and they are truly an example of quality sound engineering...high notes, for example in boy choirs from England, are carried without vibration, but also new dance or Hip Hop music with bass and strong beats come across equally well without distortion.. Violins in classical pieces come across with brilliance but not harshness.. I give these speakers my highest rating..
Excerpt: Replacing my Klipsch RF 3's I looked for the best reasonably priced speakers. After days of research I concluded that the LBJ 880s were my choice of speakers. Powered by Nad's c375BEE amp providing the power to adequately drive the LBJs I am struck with the quality of sound in all respects and touching music genres from classical, operatic, jazz, blues, rock and country. Will enjoy these speakers for years to come.
Pros: Attractive Design, Easy To Set Up, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality
Excerpt: I have these black beauties in a combo home theatre and audiophile music system. Using a Sony 65 inch big screen and a Yamaha high end integrated to power these with high end Sony SACD and Sony Blue Ray players produced a rich organic sound I have not heard with my ATC SCM 20 SL's. I immediately went through a dozen CD's and movies the next couple days after receiving these. West Coast sound never sounded this real yet relaxed.
Summary: Bought a pair new for $775 (shipping included). These replaced my sturdy but 40 year old Dynaco A25s. What a difference the JBLs make over a two-way speaker! I'm hearing mids now that I never knew existed. Highs are crisp, bass is tight and deep. My L880s are powered by a restored mid 1960s Sansui 1000A tube receiver, which has ample power even at only 50 watts per channel. Best audio investment I have made in years!
