Summary: I had to replace my large Kenwood speakers because they've been too big for the new living room. I ordered these speakers and doubted that the bass will be good. But now some weeks later I can tell that they are worth every cent. I had to switch off my loudness because of the clear and loud bass. Also the rest of the speaker (mid and treble) really sounds good. Only whislt hearing very old stuff the mid-range is too soft.
Excerpt: I bought these speakers to replace my old Bose system. I am using these for my front speakers on my 3/2/1 home theater system. I'm driving them with a Sony receiver with 145 watts per channel. The amazing sound fills my great room easily. I am very happy with these speakers. They have crisp, clear highs and decent bass for a six inch bookshelf speaker. My powered sub handles the low notes. I also purchased the ES25C for my center channel. What a difference!
Summary: Have had these speakers for 2 months now, they are well broken in. I can definitely hear a difference in the quality of sound today as compared to when I first received them. These speakers won't blow you away, they aren't the loudest ones around although if you drive them hard they do pack a small punch. They also produce a pretty "clean" sound to my ear.
Excerpt: There are not many choices out there for inexpensive bi-amp speakers. Bought these to go with a Marantz CR-M603 system and they are a good match. I have not had the chance to really crank them, as I don't often listen to music at volumes over a moderate room-filling sound anymore. However these do good at lower volumes too without missing out on any details for jazz, classical and acoustic music.
Summary: I gave up my JBL 001 Studio Monitor speakers when I moved. They were huge and in oiled walnut cabinets. My ex-wife hated them because oiled walnut is no longer in style. I opted for these speakers because of the JBL reputation. They do not disappoint. They are no way the famous 001 horn loaded system, but they provide full room sound in a small package.
Summary: Very good speakers - probobally deserve a 5 star, but the base is just a little empty for me - although, I don't know if that is fair to say of any bookshelf speaker... I do like them and for the price, I would buy em again.
Excellent speakers for the price, with one minor flaw.

Summary: This is an excellent speaker for the price per pair. I purchased them for the back wall speakers for my 7.2 surround set up. I took away one star, because the speaker is not a rectangle base. The enclosure is tapered, narrower at the back, which was not mentioned in the description on Amazon or JBL's site. Consequently, I couldn't use the wall mount I had purchased for the bigger, JBL speakers that I purchased for the front surrounds.
Summary: I needed a separate system to bury my head in-between the 2 stereo speakers to entice creativity when I paint abstract art. I dug out my original amp/receiver from 1977, my Lafayette LR-5555. I needed two bookshelf speakers to nestle into my painting corner. Even though I took measurements, when these speakers arrived they were larger than I expected. They are nice looking, well designed and built in China. JBL is now building its speakers in China.
