Summary: If you have a worthwhile receiver, these are worthwhile speakers. On their own merit, these speakers have crisp, well-defined highs, and absolutely spectacular imaging. Given the proper amount of power, the highs are well-balanced and not shrill or overly sibilant as some reviews around the net might indicate.
Summary: JBL's ES20 Bookshelf speakers do a commendable job on their own, for their size. Running just these speakers alone, with a clean 80 watts of power will impress you. The only thing lacking is the deep bass due to the use of a 5" low frequency driver. Vocals are clean, clear and transparent with a very natural sound quality. Overall balance across all frequencies is very good! I'm happy with them!
Summary: I loved the speakers, found them to be excellent and I now know why they cost more than the what I paid for, you need high power to drive them. I wasn't too impressed for the bass response, but then again for the size I could not complain. They filled a large room with music/movie audio with ease. A little high on the treble but again its a 3 way speaker. But when those high pitched noises came on the movie it was spectacular.
Summary: I grabbed this item quite cheap on Amazons black Friday sales last year and have to say the quality of sound these speakers produce is pretty impressive, and are a nice addition to my 7.1 setup. Would defiantly recommend if your after some decent speakers that wont break the bank.
Summary: I needed a couple of reasonably small but powerful speakers to pair with my frankestein Home entertainment system. The new set up incliudes a new panasonic 42" S2 plasma and panasonic Blu Ray paired with 25 year old analog NAD 7220PE Reciever, and B&O turntable). My old Bose 301s which still sound great didn't fit on the new TV console. Long and short is that these speakers put out plenty of sound through the NAD. They are ok on the base but not as deep as the Bose.
Summary: I use these as rear channels in a 7.1 setup. They perform very well with the rest of my speakers which are JBL Studio L Series. They have excellent high-frequency responce and fantastic stereo imaging. The low-end is lacking, but I wouldn't expect much of 5.25in. woofers. These would be okay for a small bookshelf system, and they make excellent surround speakers.
