Summary: JBL's ES20 Bookshelf speakers do a commendable job on their own, for their size. Running just these speakers alone, with a clean 80 watts of power will impress you. The only thing lacking is the deep bass due to the use of a 5" low frequency driver. Vocals are clean, clear and transparent with a very natural sound quality. Overall balance across all frequencies is very good! I'm happy with them!
Summary: I loved the speakers, found them to be excellent and I now know why they cost more than the what I paid for, you need high power to drive them. I wasn't too impressed for the bass response, but then again for the size I could not complain. They filled a large room with music/movie audio with ease. A little high on the treble but again its a 3 way speaker. But when those high pitched noises came on the movie it was spectacular.
Summary: These speakers are used as stereo speakers for office. They are amazing as I expected. Clear highs and mids and bass is smooth. If you want them for theatre I would reccomend a sub but for a smaller room no way. They are very loud so you don't even have to turn them way up to get clear loud sound. I am a jbl speaker fan and have jbl L series in my home theatre and would always reccomend jbl if you want superior all around sound.
Summary: Once again I'll note I have over $5 in various audio equipment. On an audiophile level; these things suck. The only good thing going for them is they can get pretty loud without distortion. On a consumer level; these are the best I've found for this price level. The are by no means 'good' speakers. But for $130 per PAIR these were my choice over every other speaker within that price range.
Summary: The speakers sound amazing and have great clarity BUT they are definitely overrated when it comes to watts. My receiver puts out 180 per channel. I had the volume up a little high and blew the woofer but the speakers supposedly are supposed to handle 240. I know its not from distortion so I'm a little dissapointed but hey they were worth the price and JBL does make great stuff.
Summary: These are my first JBL speakers and was a bit worried about the fact they are built in China. Since then I have ordered and received from Amazon more JBL speakers to complete my 5.1 surround system and to my surprise the main speakers are built in Mexico. Build quality seems to be excellent and sound quality for the price is very good. Amazon service as usual is very good and all products shipped to Australia with no damage and arrived promptly.
