Summary: If you have a worthwhile receiver, these are worthwhile speakers. On their own merit, these speakers have crisp, well-defined highs, and absolutely spectacular imaging. Given the proper amount of power, the highs are well-balanced and not shrill or overly sibilant as some reviews around the net might indicate.
Summary: These speakers are clear, detailed and have a good soundstage, however, when it comes to mid bass, they fall short in my opinion. I think that they are quite a bright sounding pair of speakers, vocals are good and percussion, high frequency sounds are well produced. I have them crossed over at 80hz, but I wouldn't go lower than that.
Summary: When these speakers came the inside box was badly crushed on one corner but I have to compliment JBL for the packaging they use. Everything was intact and my worries were over. I chose these speakers because of a proven track record that I have had with JBL in the past. These speakers are on a bookshelf in a small room and the quality of sound is incredible. What amazed me was the bass that these little workhorses provide.
Summary: Having the extra tweeter [corrected] makes all the difference to getting a big range of frequencies in a small package. If you don't need a surround sound system with 5 or 7 speakers, then these are what you need to fill the room with music, but not loud enough to get the neighbors upset. Good for our rental house. Fits nice on the table in the living room. Angled cabinet on both sides so you can turn speakers outward to get more of the room.
