Big Jambox review

theverge.com
7 January 2014
  • Summary: The most appealing aspect of the original Jawbone Jambox is its surprising ability to push big sound relative to its diminutive size. Other battery-powered wireless speakers might be louder or less expensive, but only Jawbone manages to foster a supreme balance of acoustics, portability, and design from such a convenient little package. As such, it's long been my go-to portable speaker, even with its rather steep $199.99 price tag.
  • Pros: Much fuller sound than the original Jambox, Accepts Bluetooth or 3.5mm input, Long battery life, LiveAudio 3D sound has to be experienced to be believed, A good compromise of portability and sound quality, Stunning industrial design
  • Cons: LiveAudio softens volume and dynamic range on some tracks, Better, less-portable speakers can be had for the same price, Not as portable as the original Jambox

Review: Jawbone BIG Jambox

Pocketables
24 April 2013
  • Excerpt: Last year Jawbone launched the BIG Jambox, a large portable speaker serving as a more powerful alternative to its smaller Jambox sibling. These releases served as the company’s first entrance into the world of speakers, while previously Jawbone had only manufactured Bluetooth earpieces since the company launched in 2006.

Jawbone Big Jambox Review

geekbeat.tv
9 June 2012
  • Excerpt: The Big Jambox will blow you away by the depth of the sound. It wasn’t just loud, but also crisp and clear. If you haven’t been paying attention, Jawbone released the Jambox a while back . Now the Jambox has a beefier brother, the BIG Jambox To describe the sound and product in a single word: fantastic Full Disclosure, this review comes from a purchaser, not a review unit — so keep that in mind while reading… The Big Jambox is a bluetooth capable portable speaker.

Bigger Jambox Makes a Bigger Boom

Wired
1 May 2012
  • Excerpt: The Jambox is back. But now, little baby’s all grown up. The Big Jambox from Jawbone (yes, the hands-free headset people) builds upon the success of the company’s original Jambox portable speaker, keeping the attractive no-frills design, but wrapping it around a larger box that’s louder and has more battery life. The new model will be available this week at a price of $300. That’s pretty steep for a portable speaker, and a full $100 more than its smaller sibling.

  • Excerpt: Sound. Loud sound. Beefy sound. Clear sound. Sound that you can take with you. Sound from your smartphone, tablet or mp3 player. Sound that looks great. This is what Jawbone's Big Jambox delivers and a little bit more.
  • Cons: Connect your smartphone or any device with a Bluetooth pulse and the Big Jambox will rise to the occasion, valiantly punching out tunes to fill any room with lively atmosphere. It'll dynamically handle various genres and tends to the soundstage evenly. Admittedly, it's no state of the art system, but it surprises for a portable speaker, marrying bodied audio with fidelity for a great experience, wherever you are.

Jawbone BIG Jambox – Review

CoolSmartPhone
1 May 2013
  • Excerpt: One of the phrases I seem to be using more and more is “…and you paid how much for it??”. Despite nobody appearing to have any money, it seems we are big fans of those ‘Premium’ products. I mean, why else would people be buying the BMW 1 Series…?
