I got these speakers 75% off at Christmas time - they don't add much, were too big, and not worth the price, even that cheaply
4 April 2013
Summary: I got these speakers real cheap during an Amazon lighting deal around Christmas 2010. The price was absolutely insane and I couldn't resist picking them up. They sound great during everything I'm doing - PS3? Yep. XBox? Yep. TV? Yep. And they look absolutely beautiful in my living room - Bonus! Word of caution - they are big. I don't know if they HAVE to be that big, but I'll tell you that my wife thinks they're intimidating and too large for her decor.
Summary: Infinity has one foot in mass market mid-fi and a history of leadership in the high end. What does that mean for this speaker? Well, the sound is really nice. Compared to boutique brands in the same MSRP range, it fits right in. Reviewers quibble about this and that, but none claim that the MSRP is out of wack. At the current blow out prices, around 30-35% of MSRP, they are a steal.... If you like the design. Personally, it looks a little funny to me.
Summary: I finally purchased an Infinity home audio product, a friend back in 86 had a set of tower2, they where the best sounding speakers i have heard. The price,2k. That price is military Germany, so add 2k. I bought a pair of Boston Acoustics 226, than I purchased these. I had the BA's as front, they are now the surround, and most likely will be returned to be replaced by more Classia. This is a bookshelf replacing floor-speakers.
Summary: We bought these to replace some Mirage speakers that blew up right after the warranty ran out. They are quite a bit bigger than what we had before, but the sound is great and so was the price. We are very, very happy with these speakers.
Summary: This is a very nice rear surround speaker if you have room for it, as it is rather large for a "bookshelf speaker." IMPORTANT NOTE: These are sold by an individual speaker, not as a PAIR. When I originally purchased it, I assumed (never assume) that it was a pair. When only one speaker showed up, I was surprised and disappointed, however the good people at Amazon sold me a second speaker at the same price I paid for the first and changed the listing title to more clearly...
Summary: Amazon sent me one speaker to review. I listened to it by removing one of my PSB floor-standing speakers and replacing it with the Infinity Classia C205BK. I was blown away by the fidelity of this small speaker when paired with my Arcam amp and CD player. It sounded on par with the much larger speaker (which cost 7X what Amazon is selling the Classia for!). Sounds are clear and have a wonderful dynamic range. These speakers are well built and come with solid hardware.
Summary: This review is for the Infinity C205 Classia Bookshelf unit only. Be aware that this is a bookshelf speaker and it is packaged as a single unit. When I was offered a chance to test it, the price was $300+, so I was surprised that there was only one sent to me. I mean, how can you fairly test a single speaker? It turns out that I was actually better able to compare it with the speakers I already have by comparing them side by side and ear by ear.
Summary: I've never been able to justify the expense for high quality components, but this speaker has convinced me otherwise. I hooked it up to a cheap system I bought at Wally World and suddenly the system sounded good instead of tacky. I'm looking now to upgrade my audio one piece at a time because I'm convinced of the value. The speaker is beautiful and sleek, looking at home in a high end environment.
Summary: The Infinity Classia C205 speaker delivers exceptional sound that will definitely enhance your audio/visual experience. Don't be concerned about ordering this product online. The manufacturer packages these speakers with the utmost care. When you unpack it, you will notice that this is a quality-built unit whose contemporary design looks great next to your other components.
