Summary: Bought it Nov. 2012, by April 2014 the rechargeable batteries would not hold a charge. Otherwise, the unit worked pretty well, but what's the point of a wireless, battery powered portable speaker that's not really portable after 18 months?
Summary: I was so excited to receive this wireless speaker. The set up was very easy and straightforward. But that is where the good ends. The audio quality on this speaker is terrible. Volume does not get very high and at the higher end it leaves much to be desired. I tried this out for a couple hours and packed it back up and now it's being returned and I will get the Bose system I should have initially purchased.
Summary: I'm very happy with the sound of the iW1 AirPlay speaker but I am very frustrated how it doesn't hold onto my wireless network. Once every couple of days it drops off and doesn't reconnect automatically. When it drops off the network I have to turn off the entire speaker and wait for it to reboot before it will connect to the wireless again. I keep hoping that a firmware update will fix this but still no fix.
Summary: This product works well intermittently, but loses connection frequently. It seems to have a weak wireless receiver compared to other wireless devices that were used in the same part of the house without any issue. It did not perform to our satisfaction so we returned it.
Great Sound, Great Feel... Now if it would Actually Work...

Summary: I wanted this thing to work so badly. It's everything all the reviews say. It looks good, the sound is superb for a wireless speaker with quality bass. It almost sounds like Bose makes it. Unfortunately, I can only get it to work about 30% of the time. I've tried every possible set up of router, airport, wireless band, etc I can come up with. Nothing makes this work consistently. I have a great set of speakers directly connected to an airport express.
Summary: I was really looking forward to this, but unfortunately am having quality issues with Airplay. Although I have a 12gb connection speed, it still drops out quite frequently (without even having any other devices taking up wireless data!). I'm wondering if this is the problem with a lot of Airplay devices. I may return it and go Bluetooth.
Summary: Initially really impressed with this unit - I like the AirPlay functionality via WiFi. However 18months on the battery (non replaceable) has failed and even after repeat charging will only last 20 mins. IHome state that the battery should last the life of the product.
Summary: I must say that I did fall in love with this speaker from reviews and the main feature I wanted of AirPlay. The design is excellent, very sleek and easy to use and the touch buttons are responsive. Unfortunately after owning this speaker for a while I am having to admit defeat. The AirPlay feature is the worst I have come across since converting to Apple and investing in AirPlay devices.
Summary: I was please initially as the speaker is very nice looking. Set up was pretty easy using the iphone app and connector supplied. It just lets itself down by consistently dropping the connection. When I contacted the seller they advised that this was normally down to the customer's wifi but even if I use it in the same room as the router it still drops out. I have apple tv and this works fine so I can't see how this would differ. Have sent back for a refund. Disappointing.
Summary: I really wanted some AirPlay speakers as I've got so many Apple devices. The list features of the iW1 sounded great; but many of them don't work properly. I wish I hadn't bought it. The sound drops frequently. The charging is erratic. The status indicator lamps on the front are incorrect. It charges the iPhone when docked; which is great, but wastefully continues to do this even when the iW1 is running off its own battery. It doesn't charge the iPad ever.
