Summary: Nice looking and sounding speaker. But always had intermittent problems with it dropping off the network, especially if it was moved. Even when other devices have 5 bars, the iW1 would drop. I am not sure if that was an AirPlay issue or an iW1 issue; either way it was a problem. Then after a year, the speaker will not "boot". Will not even work using the auxiliary jack; is essentially useless.
Summary: I carefully followed the instructions, and I had it working on my wifi network... for a minute. Then it stopped working. No matter how many times I power cycled this thing, it just wouldn't respond anymore. The ipad/iphone setup app is terrible also. No useful feedback. This thing is a weird device -- it has two separate power buttons for instance.
Pros: has a lot of features, but they aren't any good if it doesn't work
Summary: I purchased this for my wife for Christmas. She was really excited. But it was nothing but problems form out of the box until I sent it back to Crutchfield. The software would have to be installed every time she went to connect her iTouch. Exchanged it for the Bose Bluetooth without any issues from Crutchfield. Do yourself a favor - Just go with the Bose. So much easier.
Summary: A very expensive piece of junk. Connecting it to the wireless router was successful but quirky. The biggest problem is that it simply does not stay connected to the wireless router over time. We bought this to use with iPhone/iPad accompaniment music for piano practice. It is a very good concept. When it is time for the kids to practice piano, we airplay the music to the speaker. The problem is that most of the time the speaker has lost connection to the wireless router.
