Summary: Really really really wanted to love this. This is the brand of speakers that are in my car so I'm familiar with this particular speaker brand. However, once set up ....the output was not what was expected. I had very high expectations for this. I sent this back over a week ago due to malfunctioning. It would intermittently crackle. It's just not what I would have expected.
Great sound; useful settings; attractive; easy set-up

Summary: Using this with a Samsung 60" smart TV, centered on the narrow wall of a 15 by 60 foot area: family room, eating area and open kitchen. Used mostly for watching TV, especially sports, and the occasional movie. SB 30 a vast improvement over TV speakers of course. No audiophiles here, but we appreciate decent sound. I actually laughed at the night and day improvement when I turned it on.
Summary: I get confused when the biggest comment read on these was that it lacked bluetooth or HDMI input/output. What this is ... is a sound bar that was created with all the quality you would want in doing ONE thing well. Quality made, quality packed and working with no challenges I am highly please. The tipping point (for me) was the savings in buying through Amazon. Savings was appreciated!
Summary: I purchased this a few days ago without listening to the product. After reading multiple reviews I found this to be the best for under $1000 and easy to install out of the box. I mounted it on the wall under my tv which sounds better than a table mount. As a professional audio engineer I am very fussy about sound. I thought the sound from the sound bar was a little "throaty" when sitting on the mantle.
Summary: The Soundbar is larger then the 50 inch TV, but the sound is great! Only after you turn the unit off and hear the TV speakers alone do you realize how good it's working. At first I wasn't impressed but the unit actually learned the room size and sounds better then it did when I first plugged it in. Yes it cost more then the TV, but it adds the missing link of actually being there.
Summary: After reading the reviews, I saved the boxes for a possible return. I had always appreciated HK quality. Many comments are true, it is a sound bar not a full 5.1 system. A compromise perhaps but it exceeds my expectation. This is a really nice system. No problems and it produces amazing sound.
Summary: I bought this upon its release months ago. Based on Harmans rep. I use this unit as a home stereo (iphone connection) as well as surround sound for the TV/DVD. It has surpassed all my expectations. It has more audio adjustments than I know how to work. Keep in mind I was using a set of computer (gaming type) speakers previous to this. Simplicity of set up, clear sound quality, and the flexibility of input routes absolutely won me over and inspired this review.
Great sound but problems with wireless interference
10 July 2013
Summary: The soundbar sounds great, but I had to have HK replace the unit because the subwoofer was popping and cracking. The customer service was very good and the exchange was simple (other than paying return shipping of $100). There is a risk that a new unit may not fix the popping, which tech support said may be wireless interference. That seems like a design flaw since it is impossible to eliminate all other wireless signals.
Summary: For a sound bar they system is not bad. Honestly for $800 I expected a little more HK. Great highs and mids when playing Black Ops on the PS3. The system is a huge step up from your standard flat screen television speakers. I think the weakest features are the subs ability to produce deep rumbling bass and the systems does not recreate high quality 5.1 sound. Great for music playback just crank up the volume and enjoy.
