Summary: This was worth every penny almost 2 years now and these speakers still run brand new. I use this system in conjunction with a HK AVR 354 and I have to tell you any time I watch Blu Ray movie with TrueHD audio I'm still amazed by the sound quality til this day. Although larger speakers are always better for audio systems, but the set of speakers these come with outperform most speakers in the market today(within the same dimensions).
Summary: I love these speakers. I do not have the ability to describe speakers that are "crisp" or "warm". I don't even know what that means. The high ends are good. Not the best. But they are good, still adjusting my receiver, so it may not be the speakers fault. But vocals in movies sound clear and not garbled. Music souns great. And these make a wonderful surround set. The subwoofer has a great amount of kick. I am very pleased with it.
Summary: Purchased to work with Sony STR DN1000. Sony STR-DN1000 7.1-Channel Audio Video Receiver (Black) Room is 13X22 feet. The bass is very nice. In fact it seems too powerful for the satellite speakers. The case for the sub-woofer is very attractive in an understated way. It does not cry for attention, or mess with room decor. The power saving feature works very well.
Summary: I purchased these speakers a month ago,and I have to say I'm very, very impressed. The sound you get through these speakers(I paired mine with the pioneer VSX-819H-K receiver, which is awesome too) is just GREAT. Watching Transformers 2 on this in Blu-Ray sounded literally like you were right there. The sound stays true wether the volume is low or loud, never any static or anything.
Summary: Recently moved into new home wanted to upgrade my surround sound system. Previously I had the harman kardon HKTS 15 (step down from this one). My living room is about 25x15 feet. Used these speakers with harman kardon AVR 254 (delivers true 50 watts per channel). There definitely is a difference in the sound quality. These speakers are amazing! I use them for movies and music. Watching blue ray movies feels like you are in the movie theater.
Summary: This is the best surround system that I have ever had. I love the bass and the clarity in the highs. The only negative I could think of would be that I wish the mids were just a little stonger. But overall, I don't think you can find a better home theatre system for less money.
Summary: I think that my 10 year old Polk 5.1 speakers were starting to die. More often than not, we kept asking each other "What did they say?" whether it was on TV or DVD. I looked around and from the positive reviews I bought the HK. I was somewhat shocked by the flimsy plastic build. The Polks are made out of rugged metal. The HK wall mounts are junk. The Polk mounts have a metal ball and joint construction. The plastic spring wire grips are junk.
Summary: I researched, looked at & listened to a several brands before I settled on the Harman Kardon HKTS-18. The Bose Acoustimass 10 was equal quality but priced ridiculously high ($999). The Bose Acoustimass 6 was certainly a step down, but amazingly still priced about double what I paid for the HKTS-18. The Harman Kardon speakers arrived in less than a week and in perfect condition. Without a doubt the best sounding setup I have ever had. I couldn't be happier.
Summary: I connected these Harman Kardon speakers to my Harman Kardon AV240 receiver and it was simple. Sound is great. The four outboard speakers are 10" high and weigh about 3 lbs. The bass is maybe 30 lbs. and is 14" square on the top and 19" high. It has enough power to rattle the windows. At a little over $400 + shipping---a good deal.
