Summary: I bought these for a transportable setup for mixing music and audio when away from the home studio. I love that they fit in a small padded duffle bag. These are actually great for making 90% of mixing decisions in a song. Of course, you won't hear very low sub bass out of these.
Summary: This is not a disparagement of the Bose speakers. I still prefer the Bose volume button and the lack of a green light on the right speaker. The Bose speakers are also approximately 1/3 the price of these Focals.
Summary: i bought it for 290$. i think it was released at much higher price (about 450$). at the current price, it's a real bargain. like any good speaker, it requires couple of dozens of playing hours to let the speaker "open" and get it's final sound.
Summary: First and foremost this is a great speaker for small room listening. I returned my item because, my room situation is double or triple normal size room. This speakers suffer from a shortage of power. This is epically true, when I wake up in the morning, and I start getting ready to head to school.
Summary: Everyone that hears these speakers are blown away by the sound stage! The voices sound like they're coming out of my monitor and if you close your eyes you can place each instrument on the stage. Loud enough for the neighbors to complain about and I never miss not having a sub.
Summary: I had a pair of Canton speakers in my office and decided to see what these speakers were all about. Keep in mind that Canton speakers are very well made and use quality drivers. But after listening to the Focals I couldn't be happier. Much more accurate and a fuller sound due to a bit more bass.
Summary: Hello all, I like these speakers a lot. I do. Like anything, they aren't perfect. So here's how to start - I think these are great, and I'd strongly recommend buying them. Here's what's not great: First, they're tall. That means they balance poorly, but shake your desk not much at all.
