Summary: I purchased the Energy system in August of this year and am extremely impressed with its performance. I should preface this review by disclosing that I am a heavy researcher, my wife says bordering on compulsive.
Summary: People are going to think I am crazy but here goes nuthin'...I had to liquidate my $20K plus system which included DefTech Super Towers x 4, two Carver subs, DefTech Mythos One surround back speakers and a DefTech Mythos 9 center. All of this was driven by a Pioneer top of the line SC-09TX receiver.
Summary: I had owned a Sony HTCT-100 sound bar for several months and while it was satisfactory. I wanted something that could produce a decent sound i.e. 5.1 at an affordable price and was highly rated.
Summary: You read the subject right! 7 channel surround sound. I bought the Take Classic 5.1 set off Amazon and thought the sound was so completely amazing that I was able to contact Energy and purchase two additional satellite speakers. I currently run a 7.1 system (including two front "height" speakers.
Summary: I can not believe how amazing these speakers sound! I have auditioned these speakers for the past three days. My first day, the center channel was not working correctly and I had trouble finding the right settings on my new receiver. This was all due to user error, I later realized.
Good for the money, great for movies, not so much for music
4 February 2011
Summary: We finally switched out our great room tv..good news there, bad news is there is no space for my old tower (Infinity IL50s). While we watch TV and some movies here we also listen to music (CD,s Pandora, Slacker, Palladia and music DVD's).
Summary: If you are looking for speakers in this price range don't even think about it, buy these! I bought these along with the Onkyo TX-SR508 receiver. I had done days of looking for speakers prior to buying these. Quite honestly, I had never heard of Energy speakers!
Summary: One word "Absolutely Awesome Home Theatre System". I'm using this with a Denon 2311ci Receiver and i am literally rocking the house down. The satellite speakers are not too big and not too small but make a lot of fantastic quality noise, the Bass from the system really is amazing.
Summary: I am pleased with the performance of the Energy Take Classic 5.1 speakers. The sound nicely fills my medium-sized living room that is now doubling as our quasi home theater. The sound is clean, and my Pioneer VSX-1020 receiver was able to auto-calibrate with them without a single hitch.
Summary: These speakers sound amazing both for music and for movies. They have very crisp treble and a full, warm midrange. Coupled with the Energy ESW-8HG subwoofer, the bass blended perfectly with the satellites to provide a very well-balanced sound.
