Summary: This is simply a great set of speakers. I replaced 15 year old NHT speakers with these. Obviously the lows don't really exist which is why a sub woofer is necessary but these speakers are: 1. Clear - the highest highs sound crystal as well as the rest of the spectrum 2. Loud - plenty of power, not sure why you'd want sound louder than what these can produce, if you do you might want to get your hearing checked because something is wrong. 3.
Summary: I recently replaced an older but pretty excellent home theater (Hitachi rear projection LCD, Yamaha AV receiver, large Boston Accoustics up front, great old Advent bookshelfs in rear, large Yamaha center & subwoofer) with a Panasonic tc-p60st50 plasma, Denon AVR-1912 and Energy 5.1 Take Classic. What a difference on all fronts, but as for these little speakers, all I can say is I'm shocked at the sound they produce.
Summary: These speakers sound and look great. They lack some low end, which is expected with a small driver/cabinet speaker so you will definitely need a good sub to compliment them and fill out the sound. The finish is beautiful, piano black is not exaggerated here. No need to hide them, put them on display!
Summary: This is my second Take Classic 5 package. I've been waiting for a sale and felt I'd found a good buy. Extremely quick delivery even over the holiday season. As expected the system works great even thought my room configuration is long and skinny with the seating locations making no practical sense. The quality of sound is great. I'm no expert mind you. But for your average home owner looking for a great economical speaker set, these have been great for me.
Summary: I literally just got these speakers delivered and hooked up today, and already, even without the break in period, these are an amazing upgrade to my current 5.1 surround sound set up. I am noticing much more fine details in my sound, that until I hooked these up, didn't realize I was missing. Definitely worth the money. One thing to be aware of, while these speakers are by no means huge, they are definitely larger than most home theater in a box satellite speakers.
