Summary: I bought these speakers because the GREAT reviews all over the internet... I was a little worried because people were saying they are good for small-med rooms... Guess what? They are good in a Med-large room! My living room is an open space with the kitchen and I love the sound! I bought a Yamaha RX-V475 and everything sounds as expected! The only thing that I will say is that I was expecting a little more BASS from the sub but it is not bad at all.
Summary: When the Energy 5.1 speakers arrived, even though I'd read the specs, including their dimensions, when I looked in the box my first thought was "That's it? I paid $$ for these? They were so small! When I picked each one up and carried it to its destination, I continued to be underwhelmed. At 67 years of age, I'm used to speakers with MAGNETS in them. "I'll be returning these for sure," I muttered to myself.
Summary: Let me start out by saying that I am by no means an audiophile, I just want to have good sound for movies and music in my living room. After reading so many great reviews here and elsewhere, I thought I would upgrade my 15 year old-middle-of-the-road Kenwood 5.1 system with these after purchasing a new Pioneer VSX-53 tuner.
Summary: I ordered these speakers on sunday and they arrived tuesday lunchtime. can't beat that at all. i'm an audiophile from way back and have always gone for state of the art components, money be darned. however, since i have my other half to answer to i simply can't put towers and 1000 watt amplifiers in my 16'x22' living room. i spent a lot of time researching different moderately priced speaker systems.
Summary: I purchased the Energy Take 5's to replace an older set of wooden-boxed Take 5's that were handed down to me from my father. The old ones took a few spills and the veneer started to peel but otherwise worked great. These were tried, tested and true so I wanted to simply order a new set. I went with the 5.0 system because the 8" sub included in the 5.1 had questionable reviews so I wanted to piece my own together.
Summary: So I'm new to the whole home theater realm, but I have plenty of experience in film and sound (graduated in film) and these things are excellent for the money and size. The speakers and crisp, clear, clean and LOUD if needed- I don't hear any feedback at all from them (other than what I should be hearing). My wife and I are enjoying movies like we've never experienced them before as we're hearing things we never have, even in the theaters.
Summary: My dad already has a pioneer a/v system and Sony sub-woofer so this five pack worked out perfect. The speakers look great and sound even better. My father can be picky when it comes to his home theater equipment so I was a little scarred buying something I hadn't seen or heard before but he says these speakers rock. Even my hard of hearing mother says she can tell a difference in quality from the old speakers to the Energy.
