Summary: These sound flawless.....what a buy, i really scored the best sound. I thought bose but the sub was not adjustable. I am really glad i went this way. I bought a less exapensive receiver and these speaker make me look like a pro. Buy them, you won't be disappointed.
Summary: the satellites and sub mesh well for clean neutral sound. this unit was briefly top on consumer reports and off course on cnet.however it disappeared of c. reports and never reappeared when they were hard to find about a year ago . i got them off amazon for 399 and now i truly know what neutral sound means and how it makes listening easy for a long long time.
Summary: After extensive research, I decided to follow cnet and other reviews advice and purchase these speakers. Wow, am I glad I did. The sound is absolutely amazing. I had some very good home theater speakers but the sound coming from the Energy's take listening to a new level - crisp high's, solid mid's and deep base. The construction is beautiful. I could not ask for more at this price.
Summary: Not an audiophile, but did EXTENSIVE research prior to this purchase. For the price, these speakers cannot be beat. They are beutifully built with a piano black finish and look great with the screens on or off. The output is rich, full, and fills our medium size room with balanced, crisp sound. The bass really produces a strong, yet clear (not muddied) rumble and has more than enough power to be felt by the next door neighbor.
Summary: I bought these to go with my new Denon 1912. Both were rated at the top of their class by cnet. The combination blows away my old stereo - a cheaper Sony system. They tell you to give the speakers a 50 hour break in period. So I restrained myself and waited before cranking the sound. The clarity is great all through the volume range of the Denon which I've maxed out, but had to turn down.
Summary: I am anal about researching the products that I buy and these speakers were time and time again reviewed as the best you get get for the money. Most of the reviews were for the Energy Take Classic 5.1 set that comes with a subwoofer, but I decided to take a different route. These are the SAME speakers in that highly reviewed 5.1 just with no woofer. So, i got these 5 speakers and picked up a better sounding woofer to add to them.
