Summary: First off let me explain that the Energy Classic speakers in this kit are the exact same as the Energy Take Classic 5.1 except that you don't get the subwoofer. These speakers are just mind boggling good. They come in gloss piano black finish. They sound better than any speakers I've ever owned - even ones 5 times bigger. I use them mostly for music thru my Onkyo receiver but home theater sounds just as good.
Summary: Paired with inexpensive, high-quality Monoprice 16 gauge speaker wires, these speakers provide amazing sound at a price that can't be beat. I recently installed an entirely new media center consisting of the Samsung LN46B650 LCD TV , an Onkyo TX-SR606 AV Receiver , these speakers (with Monoprice 16 gauge speaker wires), these inexpensive speaker mounts , HDMI cables that cost less than a dollar each, and a PS3. The sound is amazing!
Summary: I have been a home theater hobbyist/enthusiast since 1989. In that time, I have setup over a dozen systems for myself, friends, and family with budgets ranging from $500 to $20,000. I have seen a lot of speakers come and go over the years. I personally prefer full-range speakers, but have always admired the sound that the Energy Take series has put in a sat/sub package.
Summary: Ive had my Take Classics 3 months now. Have them connected to my Onkyo THX 705. Cant believe the sound, richness and bass for such compact speakers. Very classy looking and match up well with any interior. I've seen the price as low as $300. Anyone who passes that price up is crazy if they are in the market for a great compact size surround sound home theatre speaker system. Believe me Ive market tested and compared before buying mine.
Summary: I recently plunged into the HD market -- bought a Samsung LCD (A550), a Sony Blu-ray player (350 model), an Onkyo TX-SR606, and these speakers. I did tons of research on TVs, BDPs, receivers, and speakers. I found 3 audio/video websites that had reviewed the Energy speakers. Google "Energy 5.1 Take Classic review" and you'll find them. Aside from what the reviews say, I fell in love with these speakers for their elegantly simple design (they look great with my TV).
Summary: After listening to these speakers at Circut City, I immediately gave up my Bose 321 GSX system. These speakers when paired with a quality receiver deliver chest pounding bass and crisp highs and delivery true surround sound. I don't know why I was so loyal to Bose.
Summary: These are very high quality speakers. They sound very good and are able to pick out the details in music and movies other speakers can't. I recommend these speakers for small to medium size rooms.
Summary: These are great speakers that sound terrific! I've these connected to a Denon 3808. I'm not an audiophile, so I can't spout stats to back up all my claims, but since sound is as much experience as statistics, here goes: The sats are really compact and look very sleek (polished/shiny black) and hardly 3 lbs. They can go anywhere pretty easily. The sound from the center channel and the sats beats anything else I've heard.
Summary: I bought this with an Onkyo TX-SR606 reciever. I could not be more pleased. I am not an audio expert, but I listen to enough music to know the difference between bad and good speakers. These are excellent. Pros: Nice looking black piano finish, perfect sound, easy to setup and install, nice clean bass. The speakers are so clear my dog thinks the doorbell is ringing for real when I am watching TV.
Summary: Well, I brought this set 1 month ago. Works very well. The speakers r small and unobtrusive. The sound from the drivers are excellent not tinny as u might expect. The speakers r made in china for anyone who thought they were made in canada. I guess ow they keep costs down. The binding posts can accomodate 14g wire and r compatible with most speaker mounts. I broke them in for 1 week playing them continuously, they have really opened up.
