Summary: I was throughly impressed by the quality of these small speakers. They are great in fit, finish, and function. They look great and sound even better. They blew my 1 year old pioneer satellites out of the water in their sound reproduction. I found that I did not have to turn up my receiver as loud to clearly hear voices and quiet scenes in movies. They are crisp and clear in both movies and music. Invest in a good sub and you won't be disappointed.
Summary: Very pleased with this set of surround speakers. Pleasant bright sound with good musical presence. They sounded a bit weak to start, but after several hours of playing they came in to their own. very good low cost system. P.S. added the Energy 8" sub woofer for smashing movie effects.
Summary: Have a wonderful Polk Audio RT 5000 system that sadly I have to sell. I knew finding a replacement speaker system was going to be tough. I looked at many system and in the end I needed a small compact speaker system. I read all the good reviews on this and others sites. I talked to an audio sales man who didn't have good things to say about Energy speakers. I took a chance on this system and wow I I'm so impressed.
Summary: Picked these up from Amazon last week to replace my Polk RM705 (Polk sounded ok but has a weak sub). These speakers sound awesome, sub rocks the entire room. Room is 20x20 and is hooked to a Denon AVR-789, Samsung LNA52 120Mhz 52" using a PS3 for blu-ray. Best spks under $1000 by far. BUY THEM you won't be dissapointed.
Summary: i was unsure of what to speakers to buy as i already had a new Onkyo receiever. i wanted a set that was of good quality but not too expensive. i had never heard of the Energy line before but saw good reviews. I am very pleased with my purchase as it has great sound and the Sub will shake your house! Set-up up was not too difficult, you will need to buy speaker wire and a subwoofer cable. I recommend this set of speakers to anyone.
Summary: First off let me explain that the Energy Classic speakers in this kit are the exact same as the Energy Take Classic 5.1 except that you don't get the subwoofer. These speakers are just mind boggling good. They come in gloss piano black finish. They sound better than any speakers I've ever owned - even ones 5 times bigger. I use them mostly for music thru my Onkyo receiver but home theater sounds just as good.
Summary: Paired with inexpensive, high-quality Monoprice 16 gauge speaker wires, these speakers provide amazing sound at a price that can't be beat. I recently installed an entirely new media center consisting of the Samsung LN46B650 LCD TV , an Onkyo TX-SR606 AV Receiver , these speakers (with Monoprice 16 gauge speaker wires), these inexpensive speaker mounts , HDMI cables that cost less than a dollar each, and a PS3. The sound is amazing!
Summary: I have been a home theater hobbyist/enthusiast since 1989. In that time, I have setup over a dozen systems for myself, friends, and family with budgets ranging from $500 to $20,000. I have seen a lot of speakers come and go over the years. I personally prefer full-range speakers, but have always admired the sound that the Energy Take series has put in a sat/sub package.
Summary: I recently plunged into the HD market -- bought a Samsung LCD (A550), a Sony Blu-ray player (350 model), an Onkyo TX-SR606, and these speakers. I did tons of research on TVs, BDPs, receivers, and speakers. I found 3 audio/video websites that had reviewed the Energy speakers. Google "Energy 5.1 Take Classic review" and you'll find them. Aside from what the reviews say, I fell in love with these speakers for their elegantly simple design (they look great with my TV).
Summary: After listening to these speakers at Circut City, I immediately gave up my Bose 321 GSX system. These speakers when paired with a quality receiver deliver chest pounding bass and crisp highs and delivery true surround sound. I don't know why I was so loyal to Bose.
