These live up to the hype.

James M., Newegg
31 January 2012
  • Summary: These speakers sound and function just as good as everyone is saying here. The sound is on par with a set of floor monitors while paired with a dedicated sub. I had a set of old Cerwin Vega AVS- HT in a box from 10 years ago that I replaced with these except for the sub- The CW satelites went out-...
  • Pros: With the promo code- these are an absolute steal.
  • Cons: None

Great Speakers

Pavan V., Newegg
26 January 2012
  • Summary: I originally wanted to buy Energy Take Classic, but I didn't want to put 7 inch speakers in my basement, so I decided to go with smaller RC Micro model. Initially I was skeptical about how these speakers are going to sound, but after watching a few movies, I just love them.
  • Pros: I bought them from Newegg when they were on sale for 160 and paired them with PSW505. They just sound incredible. It's sounds better than Bose Acoustimass 10 system.

Amazing Speakers

David K., Newegg
17 January 2012
  • Summary: My tv and all other equipment is black, but the wife wanted white speakers for the rears since they would be against crown molding. So, i bought white vinyl online and wrapped the speakers (it took 10 mins to do both and its very clean looking). Its removeable without leaving any glue behind.
  • Pros: Newegg had a great deal on these around christmas.. I am happy that I jumped on it. These have amazing sound, both for the size and for any other speakers that ive listened to. These blow my buddy's bose speakers out of the water. The audio is crystal clear and i havent heard any distortion at hi...
  • Cons: I cant think of any. You will need a subwoofer, but no home theater setup is complete without one anyways. no other speakers in this price ball park will have full bass range anyways.

Pretty good

John S., Newegg
14 January 2012
  • Summary: A subwoofer is an absolute must with these guys. If you look around, you can find a set that includes the matching sub for about the same cost as buying a separate, non-matched sub. Overall I'm happy with them and don't think I could have done any better within budget.
  • Pros: Clear sound, tiny package. Easily fills a mid-sized room when paired with a good sub. Although the terminals use spring tension instead of twist, they're well-made for a speaker in this price range.
  • Cons: Glossy finish is beautiful but easily scratched. (They come each wrapped in 3 layers of packaging!) Slightly harsh on the high end for me, but that seems to be common in theater speakers and can be compensated for with EQ or perhaps through more break-in.

Great Speakers

Kashif A., Newegg

  • Pros: This review is for the Energy RC Micro 5 pack. I am very pleased with the sound quality of these speakers. I have head them up for about 2 weeks now. I paired them with a Onkyo TX-NR609. I had a Onkyo subwoofer from a home theater in a box that I purchased back in 2004. Let me tell you going from...
  • Cons: Need a subwoofer to have a home theater experience.

Great sound but poor quality control

Braddo, Amazon
7 January 2012
  • Summary: I purchased this speaker set based on the reviews I found here and all over the internet. After hooking up the speakers I found that the tweeter in the center channel speaker and in one of the satellite speakers was not working. The non-functioning tweeters issue wasn't immediately noticeable to me.

Great speakers for their size

Mike H., Newegg
2 January 2012
  • Summary: My wife hates speakers of any size - if she can see it she hates it. So the bonus room / man cave / home theater room gets the larger speakers (Klipsch Icon W series) and these go to the family room.
  • Pros: Great sound from such an absolutely tiny size. The build construction is also great. Heavy non plastic construction means wires won't pull them around and they stay put, tough push terminals that take 14 gauge wire. Gloss black. Much better than anything else in the price class.
  • Cons: Need a subwoofer for any real surround sound play other than classical type music or voice. This is to be expected for the size - though they do better than most in the compact range.

Energy Micro

Nathan S., Newegg
25 December 2011
  • Summary: Really great set of speakers for the price I got them for. I really recommend even though I'm not an audiophile.
  • Pros: Extremely Impressive sound for the size. I bought these for a custom midrange hometheater system. Currently just using one as a center. Really does voices well was shocked at well it sounded for a such a small size. Speaker technology has a come a long way since I last bought a sound system.
  • Cons: Was a little bit confused didn't know they were all 5 same speaker thought there was an actual center speaker.

QA/QC issue not supported by Energy Customer Support

  • Summary: Plenty has been said about the build quality and sound quality. I am very happy with these speakers and recommend them to friends and family. What I am not happy about is my experience with customer support. My center channel did not sound great.
