Summary: I had the Energy CB-20 which I bought at B Buy, having had a chance to hear them against the Bowers and Wilkins competition. To may ears, they sounded basically as good, only a little different and way less expensive. They were keepers.
Summary: Great speakers. Note with this RC brand there is an approximately 100 hundred hour break in period. These now complete our Energy RC brand 7.1 HT. I wanted to get them while I still could buy new and have heard of and watched for years for a price break.
Summary: Simply amazing sound. PERIOD. When you consider their size... mind-boggling. Best book shelf speakers I've ever heard, and as I read somewhere, they're kind of mini monitors because the rear port makes them better if they're not jammed in a corner.
Summary: I've both these little bookshelfs and my Synchrony One B's and they hold up very well against the PSB's in my smallish living room. The Energys have a very sweet tonal balance if a little on the warm side on some material and that's why they'll distinguish themselves best when place on stands.
Summary: Easily one of the best speaker purchases I've ever made. I was very impressed with the build quality of these speakers. The cabinets are very solid and they look good too. 5-way gold binding posts accommodate bi-amping or bi-wiring, but I just use the bottom set of terminals.
Summary: Although these speakers are no longer available I would like to say how fantastic they sound. The break in period that Energy recommends is a fact. They tend to open up with a clarity that is great. I purchased these through Amazon which was filled by Vanns. Both have been great in my experience.
