Great speakers for good price
16 August 2014
Summary: Great speakers for good price. Very happy with surround sound speakers. They sound like I paid at least twice the price I did. Used curtain brackets to mount rear speakers and seem to be holding up well. These have broken in and gotten better with age!
Summary: This is a $600 value speaker set for less than half the price. I was about to buy the Energy Take 5.1 which I have and which is an amazing set of speakers but at 150 dollars less the Def Techs were a no-brainer.
Summary: Not responsive and rude. I would not purchase either the speaker set or from this retailer again. Went to Best Buy and purchased a Energy 5..1. Better advice, had the product there and matched price. Still a Amazon shopper just not a fan of this retailer.
Summary: I have had these speakers for about a year now. They sound great. The price was excellent and I highly recommend them. With that said, I thought I would provide some advice (and the reason why I gave them 4 stars - I would actually give them 4.5 if I could): the sub woofer is less than great. It is useable and if you have never had a sub before you might think it is pretty decent.
Summary: Get these quick before they are no longer available. Even at full list price of $400, they are a good value, but I got mine for $200, so an excellent deal. Note that these are the bottom-of-the-line Definitive speakers but after you experience these, you will be saving your money to buy more Definitive speakers the next time you upgrade. I was renovating my den and wanted a small speaker system so got the Energy Micro 5.1. I was disappointed in it.
Summary: This unit was recommend above big well known brands for it's good tuning and working with my Onkyo receiver and I was not disappointed. It's such a good thing when you have a good surprise and this is it. The size of each speaker is really, really small. The quality is very good in a plastic that leaves no fingerprints and avoids dust. The subwoofer is quite a show apart. I use it only half way and my neighbors complain all the time, do not be fooled by it's size.
Summary: Excellent small speakers. I got them to save space over my huge old speakers. I got an incredible deal on them. I would like higher end speakers but for the money I've got in these they're great. Really accurate sound reproduction for music and movies.
Summary: These speakers are small with a really big sound. With the 1 inch tweeters, these speakers are very clean which when doing surround sound, they accentuate the spacial presence of the sound. During a civil war scene, you could hear the bullets whizzing by which on another system was hardly noticeable. I bought 2 sets of these as with the discounted price on these, they can not be beat.
Summary: These babies are pretty decent quality for the money. They are small but they've got some heft to them, and they don't have that cheap made-in-China look that most speakers in this price range have. They're better than I thought they would be. You can crank them up quite high and not get any distortion in the sound. I would highly recommend them if you want a decent set of speakers for a small to medium sized room without spending too much money.
Summary: The speakers themselves are of high quality contriction, sculptured wood, heavy weight. As with all speakers that use the banana plug connection jack, there never seems to be a proper allignmento of the holes for a direct cabel connection, and I haven't found banana plugs that satisfy me. The central speaker sounds very crisp, better quality than the internal speakers.
