Summary: I bought 2 Mythos Six and a Seven along w/ a ProSub 800 for center, side & sub speakers for a new Samsung plasma and although they're still new to me, I really like the sound of the outer speakers. The Sub is a little bit "all there or not" but the Mythos' are all great...look and sound terrific.
Summary: Looks and performance at a reasonable price. These tower speakers look great beside my new 60 inch Sony TV. They perform beautifully being powered by my Denon 991 receiver. Acoustically they are a great match the for the Def. Tech Pro 800's in the surround position.
Summary: one off the best speaker with very reasonable price, state off art. excellent finishing with piano black color. also very good looking with LCD Television. I love the sound with mid range and good response tweeter you need good subwoofer.
Summary: These speakers are in my oppinion the best "bang for your buck" I have the complete 7.1 system from DefTech: 2x mythos 1 as main front 2x mythos 5 as rear 2x mythos 6 as left/right 1x mythos 3 for a center 1x supercubeII for bass It sounds like 20'000 dollar system but is a fraction of that..
Summary: The speakers themselves are incredible. They separate the highs and lows extremely well and can handle their own with speakers that are much larger. Installed with a Mythos Seven center speaker. Their size is very complementary to the 60" flat screen even while installed on their galss stands. The quality of design and manufacture is terrific. I have only two minor issues.
Pros: Great sound, terrific design and manufacture, do what they claim to do. Sound gets better every day they are in use as noted in the manual
Cons: Setup instructions could use a blow-part picture to show the relationship of washers to screws to base, and consider moving the rear speaker wire connection a little farther apart to help inserting the wire if one does not use banana plugs. Do understand this is so the dual plug devices can be used.
Summary: I purchased the Def Tech MYTHOS SIX a month ago as front speakers for a 7.1 system. I was adding them to a 5.1 Infinity TS-1100 satellite speakers and 12" subwoofer which are now used as side and rear surround sound. The MYTHOS six did exactly as hoped by adding a little more midrange and a much more realistic high end and look fantastic wall mounted next to my 50" Samsung. When I first turned them on I was a little disappointed in the lack of "punch".
