Summary: I just purchased these for a new house for my 9.1 set-up. The vaulted ceilings in the house didn't allow the use of my old Bose 161s. The installation was almost too easy and with the flush grills you almost don't see them. The sound they produced was amazing!
Summary: Great sounding speakers with easy installation. Wire connections on the back of the speaker make installation very simple. Robust design + ability to point the tweeter makes this product the perfect solution for any home theater configuration. They are a little pricey, but worth it.
Summary: Wanted floor speakers but lost the battle. Installed four of these along with a XTR 50 center and a SC 4000 driven with a Yamaha RX 673. Got help from tech advisor on optimizing ceiling speakers placement for music. The result was just awesome!!!! CLEAR music across the whole spectrum.
Summary: Easy to install, but pricey. With the narrow bezel on the Def Tech 6.5Rs, I didn't want to take a chance on sawing the drywall myself. The brackets were foolproof guides for the drywall crew so I'm looking forward to installing the actual speakers when our house finally gets finished.
Pros: Easy to install. Will make speaker installation easy. Great guide for drywall crew.
Cons: Expensive, but they could save $ in the long run if you don't use them and cut the hole in the drywall too large.
