Summary: If space is a concern, BUYEM!! BUYEM!! BUYEM!! One of the second set of replacement woofers for my JBL L100's finally STB (good run, 25 years). These Definitives superbly fill my living space with all spectrums of audio being excellently reproduced. Deep, sound bass with a highly clean and defined midrange. And the highs:::WOW! The SYMBOLS, can tell they're Zilzian's.
Summary: I have the speakers as my rears in a surround setup, the 8060s are my main fronts. They sound amazing for there size and in reference to a couple other reviews it does not matter what side the subwoofer is on, they are non directional and they are not flawed with the built in subs they sound awsome and fill the room with even powerful bass, highly recommend
Summary: Having spent several months with these speakers, I have come to the conclusion that locating the subwoofer in the same enclosure as the main speakers is simply a bad idea. It might be fine in a room that is acoustically engineered, with lots of bass traps and so on. In a normal room, though, the optimal location for the sub is very unlikely to be an optimal or even practical location for the mains, and you are likely to encounter (as I do) standing waves and the...
Summary: I've had these for 2+ years, and I had to replace one of them due to a blown tweeter, but I got another one, and they're working great. I have high frequency hearing loss, so i crank that portion of the sound spectrum up. The blown speaker was in warranty; they replaced it. These are the front speakers, and I like these so well, I am thinking of going to the next step up in this line for the front and moving these to the back.
Summary: These speakers are in a word GREAT! I previously owned a pair of Def Tech BP 3000's about 10 years ago and they were huge and at about 145 LBS each they were REALLY heavy. The 8020's are much smaller and lighter but pack an amazing punch. I am using them as a two channel home theatre set up in a room that is fairly small at 11' by 12' and have them hooked up to a Onkyo TX-NR626 receiver.
Summary: I consider myself a semi audiophile, these speakers have great sound for my minimalistic home theater setup. I am content with a 2 speaker setup with built in subwoofer, surround isn't a big deal for me. I listen to classical to hiphop and house, these speakers satisfies my ears for these types of music. The technology has a bit of bounce to the sound, not exactly surround, but sufficient for movies.
Summary: I recently bought the def tech 8020 and I am super satisfied with the sound quality. I use them with a new pioneer receiver and primarily play cd as well as Pandora via AirPlay. I just love it. The speakers handle rock, bluegrass and techno very well, but they shine most playing Classical music. You really think you've got the orchestra right in front of you. The built in subwoofers are ample for our bedroom (20x30).
Summary: AMAZING Units worth every cent and sound phenomenal beyond ones expectations. I don't leave reviews very often. After reading reviews lack there of, these really continued to impress me, no more going to the cinema I have my own and these are the anchors that bring it all together. A++++ From now on DEF TECH is my first Audio option.
