Definitive Technology AW 6500 Outdoor Speaker

Summary: Great little speakers. Awesome sound. Ample bass response due to large rear-mounted passive radiator. No need for subwoofer with these speakers. Easy to mount. Adjustable directional brackets. I bring them inside during the colder months and use them as satellite speakers for my home theater system.
Summary: We recently bought two sets of outdoor speakers (Bose Fee Space 51 and Definitive AW 6500) and connected them to a Sonos wireless system (using the Connect: AMP). We like both sets of speakers but the sound is crisper from the Definitives. Bose as always does a good job delivering bass and the in ground form factor fits that space very well - but several people who have listened to both speakers prefer the sound from the Definitives.
If you're debating between 5500 and 6500, definitely go bigger!

Summary: Sounds great! Very clear with adequate mid range bass response. Don't expect these to be very full outside in a large area, though. I had them hooked up inside for testing and break-in prior to installing outside, and they sounds AMAZING inside. Definitely made me want better speakers for my home audio/theater system as well.
Summary: i had another brand of exterior speakers before, but the sound was really nothing compare to this. totally worth the price, the look is also very chique to combine with my pool and external area.(where we entertain a lot) nothing bad so far! and i have these installed for 6months already! at least no more complaint from my husband for bad sound when he plays the music loud.
Summary: This is the best all-around outdoor speaker I have found, and I have had many over the last half century. I really like my Niles, I like my Parasound, and I like my JBL's, but after adding these in my garage on custom swivel mounts inside the doors, I was amazed at the bass they are capable of producing, and great balance for outdoor sound. I am an audiophile, and have 3 home theatre systems in my home, and have listened to a lot of speakers over the years.
Summary: Bought those for a new patio I am building. Tried them inside first to get a feel of the sound quality and level. Wow, they really pack a solid punch. But outside, all the bottom end was gone with the wind. So I created a new back panel that reflects the sound and voilà, most of the base is back. Love the Sound, good for background music and parties.
Summary: Absolutely blew me away. I have never heard an outdoor speaker that could compete with the AW 6500. I am very picky when it comes to good sound. My neighbors are about to get familiar with good music.
Summary: My set did not have the stickers that have been mentioned earlier, just the easily relocatable badges. You will want the badges very visible, otherwise people will be regularly asking you who made the speakers and where you got them from. Read and follow the directions, especially regarding positioning.
