Professional Home Entertainment Speakers
1 June 2005
Excerpt: If you are looking for the Final Touch to your Home Entertainment Experience, these Speakers do just that. This is a 6.1 Surround Sound Speaker system (6 Satellites, 1 Sub-Woofer). INSTALLATION I will start from the beginning of my Surround Sound experience. Care into Packaging was great, everything was well Protected. After closely inspecting everything, it was easy to prepare each speaker individually for installation, which only took 5 minutes.
Summary: I bought these a few months ago and i'm really happy with them. Have a great subwoofer that pumps out some very nice base ;) Def recommend them to anyone with a nice compter setup and i recommend a decent sound card (it can mix 5.1 to 6.1) so its very good.
Excerpt: I purchased my speakers approximately 9 months ago and they are still going strong. They have so far lasted hours of gameplay and various house parties where the music has had to be very loud. They design of the speakers is very good. If you require some decent speakers for 6.1 sound and only have a limitied space in which to put them, these would be ideal.
Pros: Crisp clear and loud sound
Cons: Distortion at high volumes and length of leads
Excerpt: my partner bought me a creative 6.1 speaker setup for my christmas and let me have them early, i plugged them in and found that my cables werent long enough to go to the rear of my 4 m x 3 m room but hey i'll get some extending leads. i didnt have to change any settings on my computer as it has the onboard sound card never the less i got one of my loudest bass cd's out and put it into the cdr/w and played it via windows media player and i had the volume on 3 and the bass...
Pros: reliability, bass, build quality, noise
Cons: the cables could do with being a little longer
Summary: This sound syystem is great when combined with the Creative Audigy II soundcard. It is great for people on a budget that want clear and brilliant sound, and with the Dolby Digital EX dvd titles, the surround sound is awesome.
Excerpt: The 6.1 system is a new and interesting way in seperating the sound out. It basically has 3 front speakers and three rear ones plus a subwoofer of course. The sound quality is very good even at high volume and will surely rock your room. It's awesome for in game action and adds amazing realism to the explosions and gun fire. However, my housemate has got an equivalent 5.1 system which cost approximately the same and has the same quality speakers.
Pros: Good value for money .
Cons: Not really any difference between 5 . 1 and 6 . 1 .
Summary: These are an excellent compromise on price and features. You don't get the highest studio quality sound but you simply don't need that for a home use. The price is also excellent £89 for a 6.1 speaker system is excellent value for money and offers perfect extra to a DVD or gaming PC. The only negative thing is the lack of a digital input for the higher end sound systems, but for £90 it is to be expected.
Summary: These speakers are the best of the best... Forget 5.1 and all the other crap, these 6.1 speakers are just the real deal when it comes to gaming and music. Combined with a "Creative Labs Audigy II" soundcard, you'd get the real 6.1 feeling. The new front centre speaker is more rounded and powerful for much clearer audio.
