Summary: The subwoofer is tiny and only moves about half a milimeter while it starts distorting. I think the subwoofer is less than 1 watt because of this. To hear the bass from the subwoofer, you ear must be atleast 1 inch away from the subwoofer or else it will sound bad. The mid range have an unnatural sound to it so it sounds like garbage. I think the subwoofer included with this speaker system is the world's worst woofer. My voice even sounds deeper than the subwoofer.
Summary: I bought these speakers to replace the 40 watt sound bar I had bought for my High-Def TV. I bought the speaker bar without the subwoofer and was disappointed. I disconnected the soundbar and connected these speakers instead. The sound is great at 1/4 the price! I used the RCA stereo out on my TV, I got an adapter that changed the RCA to 3.5mm, another adapter, 3.5mm female to female, and hooked up the speakers. Sounds great!
Summary: Overall these speakers are pretty decent. The high frequencies are a bit unclear, but acceptable at lower volumes, some EQ adjustments helped even out their response. The lower frequencies from the subwoofer add a nice fullness to their sound.
Summary: At first I was skeptical b/c I read some disappointing reviews, but I really wanted to get a set for my room because hearing the stock speakers to a laptop gets boring. When they arrived and I plugged them in, skeptically expecting them to not attain my satisfaction, played Kendrick Lamar's "Money Trees", and the bass dropped sending me chills and thrills for these small speakers. Definitely did more than what I expected, wish I got two sets instead of one.
