Summary: The sound Is good, clear and crisp, the base is deep considering they are 8" woofers. I am driving them with an Onkyo 7.1 receiver that is running Bi-Amped. They could defiantly use more power, the louder I turn them up the more acoustically pleasing they sound.
Summary: Fairly good for loud music. At low volume they're not real impressive, not the clearest speaker in the world. Not the sweetest for a home theater set up but they're pretty decent towers for music. Good choice for a larger size room in a house. You can run them off most receivers without an amp.
Summary: These speakers were exactly what I was looking for. Plenty of push for the bass and great sound quality to hear the voices clearly and realistically during movies. Using these as my left and right fronts. Perfect!
Summary: I bought these speakers to replace an old pair of Bowers and Wilkens DM560's for my living room. I have them mated to a circa 1975 Sansui 881 receiver. I wanted a speaker that delivered more bass not only for music but for DVDs as well. The XLS-28s impressed.
Summary: So far, the other reviews are dead on. I played music first and wasnt extremely impressed. Put in avator'' the cat trying to kill him scene''and wow! You can feel the tree's cracking and the gun shots...what! The speakers put you there.
Summary: Simply, these are superb !! I'm a bass player and a fan of old school stereo setups as they sounds more natural to me. (and very close to what I hear when perform in live). I really wanted to buy CV XLS-215s, but I had to opt with these XLS-28 as I couldn't find an online store which ships CV...
Summary: Cerwin Vega rocks so hard!!! These speakers are the best bang for your buck period. The sound is just as good if not better than speakers costing 5x as much. They rock movies and music flawlessly.
Summary: Very happy with these speakers and the fact that Amazon sent them half way around to world to my doorstep. Looked and look at many speakers and was really just looking for a robust, purposeful and powerful speaker.
