Summary: Fantastic speakers!!! I have a powerful sony receiver and have sony floor speakers for back of room/surround sound and use the cerwin Vegas as my two front/main speakers, they have amazing sound
Summary: I finally gave up my ~35 year old Cerwin Vega D7s. We have a nice home theater system, and the Wife was finding the large cabinets too dated and beat up. The iconic status of the brand was why I recouped the same $200. on Craigslist that I paid for them in an Austin, TX pawn shop in the early 80's, within 2 days. Those speakers survived many wild Texas State parties, and just kept going with a woofer re-cone. I demoed some BIC PL89s on my 120 watt RMS Denon AVR 1613.
Summary: i cant tell ya how nice it feels to crank it up without the fear of blowing speakers, had athena as-f1 speakers that were exellent sounding but fixed woofers 4 times.these are fuse protected and sound even better as a three way obviously should.just look at them and you cant help but turn the stereo on. love them!
Summary: These speakers do sound great, and even excellent, depending on the style of music. Obviously, they play incredibly loud, but they tend to get a bit muddy when the music gets busy, particularly with multiple midrange-y guitars (Black Crowes, Led Zeppelin, Drive-By Truckers, etc.) However, this might be the result of my need for a more powerful amp...? On the other hand, when listening to music without a lot going on (King Tubby, Jonathan Wilson, early Black Keys, etc.
Summary: I purchased two of these from a sale here in town to hook up to my Onkyo-TXNR 717 receiver because i wanted more sound when listening to music. I already own a pair of Seismic Audio dual 15" pa speakers that sound great along with a pyle pt3300 3000 watt amp. i use my onkyo for casual listening buy switch over to the 3000 watt amp when i really want to blast my music. Long story short these speakers perform like a champ.
Summary: Man I gotta say, these things are just beast!! I have these hooked up to a Pioneer VSX-821 receiver pushing 110 watts RMS per channel and I decided to throw a party and now everyone wants me to have another one because of how loud and good these things sound. I you want unbelievable highs and a chest pounding club style bass experience you cannot go wrong with these!!!
Summary: Excellent sound. I have been around professional audio equipment my whole life, and, these are some of the best speakers i have ever owned. The only advice i can give is, you need a high power amp to push them properly.
Summary: these are the classic big bad loudspeaker!! i have mine hooked up with a 100 watt receiver and a 100 watt power amp and i barely have the volume and gains turned up and they are shaking the house. the fact that they can handle a lot more is a bonus. these speakers are for real. crystal clear sound, thunderous bass, solid mids.
Summary: I was a little leery when I chose these speakers for my quad room when I found out they also made a matching sub-woofer. But because of the name I took the chance and bought 4 of these together. After hooking them up to my Sansui QRX-999 (60watts rms times 4)there was no more doubt. Unreal highs with the horn but unbelievable bass from a floor tower that takes up so little space. I have bass reflex speakers 3 times the size that can just keep up with these beauty's.
