Summary: Running these through my 70's Hitachi receiver they sound real good. Had issues with shipping, shipped a total of 5 speakers, i sent 3 of them back. Cerwin Vega do not no how to pack a speaker, even the 2 speakers I kept had cracked grills that I fixed myself. Amazon did a great job taken care of it and gave me a discount. Tried to contact Cerwin Vega and I guess Gibson guitars owns them now, lousy service.
Cerwin Vega is one of the best speakers in the world.

Summary: I'm in my 50's an I've seen a lot of audio systems and speakers. I have to say the Cerwin Vega brand is by far one of the best that I have ever owned. The liquid filled tweeter is one of the neat things about the speakers. The clarity of the sound is remarkable even at high volume. I have the VE 8 for my left and right back speakers and they deliver the perfect octave ever time!
Summary: I bought two of these speakers to replace a set of 1983-vintage Genesis 110's that weren't working well anymore. Besides sounding great, they're smaller than the Genesis 110's, and they have nice wood cabinets that are hard to find these days. I don't think you can find a better deal.
Summary: I purchased a pair of these for my recently restored old Kenwood stereo. The stereo originally came with 12" speakers (which the cones since disintegrated). The speaker boxes are made of real wood, considerably smaller however the sound is as good, if not better than the original speakers. Being an 8" speaker I was concerned about how low the bass would go. These speakers will do anything you ask of them include rattle the windows while still sounding excellent...
Summary: Let me start out by saying I am very impressed with these speakers, they sound much larger then their small size. I recently upgraded my TV to a 52" flat screen and kind of screwed myself for wall space. I already had Cerwin Vega rear surround and center channel all in the VE series so I figured I would try these out for my front channel since the size was right. Crystal clear sound, good highs, mids, and lows. These replaced a pair of KLH 12" 3-ways.
Summary: I was impressed with the clarity of these speakers, especially at higher volume. I was hearing things in tunes I have listened to for years that I had never noticed before (subtle background instruments and voices)! Certainly well worth the price. Bass is a little weak but the speakers team up well with the Polk Audio powered sub I purchased with the CV Towers. I am actually getting back to listening to music as a regular, well appreciated pasttime.
