Summary: I purchased these speakers for my son and paired them with a Yamaha RS 201Stereo Receiver and a Audio Technica AT LP120 Direct Drive Turntable. I owned Cerwin Vega speakers for over twenty years and love the size, sound and presence of my old E 312's; so I was hopeful about these mini Cerwins' for my sons first system. Needless to say I was absolutely amazed by the sound of these; they sound wonderful.
Summary: I owned a set of large floor Cerwin Vega's 30 years ago and thought they were the most awesome speakers. I recently purchased an Audio Technica turntable, as I had gotten into collecting analog recorded vinyl. Problem was that my 9 year old Bose home theater system just wasn't cutting it as far as what I remembered these old vinyl recording sounding like. And to be honest, I never was impressed with the Bose system anyway.
Summary: Crisp with a rich treble and pumping bass. In fact the base is a little overwhelming but you can adjust your system accordingly. I am no audiofile, but I have systems in every room of my home and I put this my garage to listen to Pandora while I restore a classic car. I know Rock and Roll and how it is suppose to sound, these speakers accompanied with the Concert Hall setting on my receiver give excellent separation.
Summary: I just purchased these speakers after months of reading reviews and listening to speakers in various stores and i must say that these bad boys rock!!!!!!! For $108.00 with shipping you would be hard pressed to find a better sounding speaker. Plugged em up to my Denon receiver which pumps about 75 watts rms into them and i cant turn these puppies past halfway. The highs are crisp, and the bass is very surprising considering the size of the woofers.
