Conclusion: In this economy, it's hard to justify new speakers. However, the SoundWare XS 5.1 system packs a roomful of fun into one small $500 package. There are plenty of other systems out there that are slightly cheaper, but Boston Acoustics' quality is worth the extra money.
Cons: Beefy subwoofer is a big visual contrast to satellites, Subwoofer has no speaker level inputs; LFE/line input only
Summary: A n ultra-compact 5.1 home-theatre speaker system sounds like a highly compromised solution for hardened videophiles, though a highly desirable solution for lifestyle consumers. It is a large gap between what videophiles and music lovers can live with versus what a casual consumer can tolerate.
