Solid speaker system with great sound in a compact package
25 November 2014
Summary: Solid speaker system with great sound in a compact package. The satellite speakers are beautifully designed and feel solid. They produce great sound with clear highs and mids. The subwoofer produces solid, tight bass. This was an excellent addition to a new LED TV being used in my bedroom that had absolutely terrible sound from the built in speakers. I have had some issues with bluetooth not working well (doesn't remember devices after being paired).
Summary: The sound: Crisp, undistorted until max volume (and even then, only minor), a 100 percent improvement over flat screen speakers. The sub is somewhat underpowered, but delivers enough on the lows to be a positive. The setup: Less than 5 minutes for a bedroom setup paired with an LG LED via optical (provided - huge plus). You do end up with quite a few wires to be dealt with, but some careful routing and cable management can produce an elegant look.
Summary: speakers arrived 2 days early, they were well packaged and had no damage. hookup was straight forward and pain free. the only glitch was programming the remote to my tv and i suspect the only problem here is i need new batteries in my tv remote as indicated in the boston manual. i'm using these in my bedroom with a 42" flat screen.
Summary: If you are looking for a nice loud system but don't wanna dish out thousands this is your set. It's very loud for movies, though I changed the wire it came with, with 14 gauge speaker wire. The one downfall, I personally feel it lacks in bass for music, but for some odd reason for movies it pounds, other than that it's good
Summary: I bought this to replace an Onkyo LS3100 that I had recently purchased because the Onkyo did not allow input switching and would disconnect Bluetooth every 5 minutes. The SoundWare XS has an input switch on the remote and stays connected to Bluetooth until manually disconnected. These two features turned out to be extremely important for me because I connect the speakers to many different devices. However, the XS is not as good sounding as the Onkyo.
Summary: Sounds great for such a small system. My only complaint is that the volume occasionally gets out of synch with the TV even when I placed the Boston Acoustics remote received right above my TV.
Summary: Sound is competent for a bedroom or small office setting. I really like the Bluetooth connectivity, the learning remote, and that I can use other remotes to control the volume. I am a professional musician, and I won't use these speakers to SERIOUSLY listen to music, but for background music for housecleaning and connected to the bedroom TV, this works well. I got it as a lightning deal, so it was worth the money I paid.
Summary: Firstly these speakers sound good ( I am a live sound engineer). They could be better but for their size and price I think they're a great value. My issues are with the noise the power supply in the sub woofer it seems to emit a constant high pitched sine wave. It's not apparent when the volume is up but if you mute the system or even have it running low it is bothersome.
