Summary: Frankly, I think the sound should have been way better for the price - but it is what it is. You get small speakers which is what you're after here anyway. But don't expect miracles from the sound. These are woosy little buggers.
Defective out of the box and you only get one day for return it!

Summary: One of the speakers did not have one of the speaker wire holes drilled out so I could not put both speaker wires on. This is a really obvious manufacturing defect. So I could not even try the speakers. Then when i went to do the return it said I had one day to return it! What? Never seen that on Amazon before. I was a little lerry of buying this anyway as a lot of people seemed be having quality control issues and now I see why.
Summary: I purchased this system from Amazon and set it up in a few minutes, only to find that the tiny credit card remote control was dead. Replaced the coin battery, but that was not the problem. Frustrating, because the build quality is good and the sound is nice, but with no control over volume, input, etc., it is useless. Contacted Boston Acoustics via their web site, but two days have passed with no response.
Summary: I have it hooked up to my gaming rig and fills my small office with rich sound. Turn the bass setting down as the max setting is way to much and drowns out the treble/highs. It easily binds to my Bluetooth mp3s and phone. controls are good and the ir remote works ok. An RF would be better IMO. I bought it in the used section and it came without a scratch. Packaged well and was the condition noted in the comments. Amazon is always a good choice!
Summary: An excellent product that can't be beat for the price. I was looking to get better sound than what came out of the flat screen but didn't want to get a full 5.1 surround system. I looked at sound bars but with the stand on our Samsung TV, the sound bar would sit 6 inches in front of the screen. I also looked at sound bases but was not impressed by the amount of base.
Summary: I was considering a Bose Cinemate system but did not want to spend that much money. I found this system and ordered one that was refurbished for less than 1/4 of the price of the Bose system. For the money you probably cant do any better.
The best affordable 2.1 for both listening to music and watching movies.

Summary: I wanted to have a compact sound system for my relatively small living room to watch movies and listen to music. My options were soundbars, portable bluetooth speakers, HiFi systems and 2.1 systems. I first eliminated soundabars and bluetooth speakers since none of them could give the clarity for music and base performance for movies together. HiFi systems were too expensive and unnecessary for a compact house.
Summary: I bought this end of 2013 and kept in the box until end of January when I moved. hooked it all up and it seemed great, ONE week later it quit working.. just stopped. also could not return because it was past the 30 days. very frustrating.
Summary: I tried to like this XS 2.1 Boston Acoustics sound system but had to return the system after 3 weeks. System has some nice features and sounds pretty good. There is Blue-tooth, RCA stereo, 3.5mm stereo, & SPDIF optical inputs. There is a volume control on back of base speaker/amplifier where you can increase/decrease amount of base.
