Summary: I am a huge fan of Boston Acoustic Speakers. My family owns many of their speakers, but this specific model is a bit lacking. I've had these mounted in my master bedroom for almost a year now. The sound quality is great, (as expected). However . . . . we took them down 10 days ago to paint and have been struggling to remount/re-install them ever since. Two weeks now and we have 3 of 4 remounted but one is still drooping down.
Summary: As far as the sound, this device is OK, nothing fantastic but still OK. The disappointing fact is that when you connect the device to your Satellite TV (DISH) you lose the ability to control the TV from the remote. Instead you have very limited control via the enclosed, miniscule controller that come with the device. In addition this controller does not work at all. You cannot raise the volume, for instance.
Summary: Product sounds ok for small speakers. I could not get the set up to work properly. The receiver module for the remote control is IR not RF. Because of this the module must be aimed toward the person with the remote control. When activating the remote control the lights on the module are to bright to be actable. On my TV when I when I go into the menu and mute the speakers a window appears on the screen every time you adjust the volume that says NOT AVAILABLE.
Pros: Sounds ok
Cons: Bright lights, Not Available volume window and problems with set up.
Summary: I did a lot of online research before purchasing this system, and am really confused by all the great reviews. This speaker system produced great bass, but really flat highs and tinny mid tones. I was very disappointed when I compared it side by side with my 25 year old Bose Acoustimass 3 system. The entire family thought the Bose produced much better, richer sound. Shipped the system back to Crutchfield on day 2. Maybe I just got a defective system. - ?
Pros: Price, Bass
Cons: Sound quality is bad, sounds like tin can speakers with good bass. No tone control to adjust to personal preference.
Summary: I sent the first one back because I couldn't get it to work, even after speaking to the superior customer tech from Crutchfield. After I received the replacement, it took a while to get it to work. Now it's intermittent because the optical cable is not a great fit in the jack, and often needs to be pushed in tighter. When working, very pleased with the sound quality.
Pros: Good sound, competitively priced.
Cons: Remote and controller not intuitive. Works with blinking and different color lights. Need to keep manual handy. Optical cable is a poor fit and needs to be adjusted often.
Summary: I got these speakers for my 32" TV. I thought these would be great for a smaller tv and also to save space because of their small size they are a good solution. After listening to these I was happy with the sound from the speakers, but very disappointed with the bass I got from the subwoofer. I actually was expecting the sub to be one of the more impressive features in this package because of the price.
Pros: Good speakers with pretty good clarity Bluetooth Easy setup
