Summary: The speakers were bought for a home office and sound wonderful. It is nice to be able to hear the instruments and vocals without having to crank the music up loud. The quality is amazing. They are more expensive than other brands but well worth the difference.
Summary: This is not a knock against Bose. I had a problem with these speakers and needed to return them. Amazon claims they are a hazardous item because of magnets in the speaker. I had to fight to get a full refund - really disappointing with no warning on the product page. Might want to check other options for ordering.
Summary: I have four pairs of these installed so far. The price is a little steep, but the sound is pretty awesome. The configuration I am using, is with two pair combined with a Sonos amp in two locations. One location is a 40 x 60 dance studio, in there I added a Sonos Sub. That worked great with the acoustics. The second dual pair on a Sonos amp is for a large dining area. No sub required with the furnishings taking up the slack of any echo.
Summary: Easy installation and incredible sound. Replaced existing ceiling speakers with these and the sound is amazing. Connected to V35 system via Boselink. What a difference from an old pair of speakers the previous homeowner had installed. Wiring was already in, so I just had to adjust the hole in the ceiling and pop these in. The template provided made the ceiling cut easy.
Summary: even you bose haters out there should give these a try...especially for surround components. you simply cannot beat them for the price, period. pair them with a klipsh sub and get the perfect novis system. and the install was simple and secure. i am very impress and would buy these speakers from crutchfield again in a heartbeat!
Pros: easy install, huge sound field--especailly for ceiling mounted speakers, best sound for the price
Cons: need a good sub for ground rattling bass--but i would recommend that anyway
Summary: These speakers are very nice for ceiling speaker! Great instrument and voice seperation, with no distoroation at all at high volumes. Very easy to install. The wide terriable spread works very well from the two angles tewtters. The only word of warning is they do not have massive bass, so if your are expecting "sub woofer" style bass- such as in the AM3 or AM5 you will be disappoitned, if not; you'll love these.
