Summary: Terible sound! I highly recomend not spending $1,000.00 or more for a piece of crap speaker that sounds like an old lady yelling at me. Dont buy this or your money goes down the toilet! This is why it sound terible... 1. Not clear 2. Its only loud because of so much static 3. It cracks too much 4. The name is retarded If you want good speakers get Klipsch or any other Klipsch brand, Yamaha, Pioneer, or Polk Audio. Now have a great day everyone!
Summary: Purchased the Acoustimass 16 Series II. I had a Klipsch Legend system previously. I have to say the Bose sounds great. Very wide soundstage. Good tonal balance. I kept my old Mirage subwoofer and have it and the Bose AM 16 subwoofer running simultaneously. It sounds awesome. Highly recommend.
Summary: very very good speakers, the tiny cubes go from 1khz to 8khz and the module from 20hz to 1khz so all you need to do is just add a tweeter pumping from 8khz to 20khz and all you'll need is a powerful receiver and a bowl of popcorn, sit back and enjoy!!!
Summary: Okay, I'll man up and admit I bought this for the same reason I bought an Audi instead of a VW. While it's arguably one of the best products on the market, I spent twice as much as i needed to, primarily to make the statement to house guests that I'm successful, prosperous, and an appreciator of the finer things in life. That being said, I'm a life-long satisfied customer of Bose products.
Summary: I've known about the sound quality of Bose Acoustimass systems for years but do to children and marriages just couldn't afford the luxury. Now happily divorced and the children grown I have finally acquired a Bose system. It's everything I always knew it would be, great sound. Calling the sound realistic doesn't go far enough. Watching Blu-Ray concerts in 1080p along with hearing them in full 5.1 or 6.1 full DTS digital sound is better than being there live.
Summary: I consider myself an average audiophile. I have used a lot of equipment over the last 10 years and have spent countless hours reading reviews here and on other forums. This review is of the Acoustimass 16 (AM16) series II. I'm using the AM16 as "surround speakers." With that, I'm only using 4 of the satellites and the "bass" module. I have Polk Monitor 60 fronts and a Polk CS2 center that I will not replace with these speakers.
Summary: I am a serious audiophile, I recently purchased a Bose AM16. Here is a very accurate & unbiased experience. The size & configuration are good. It is an excellent subwoofer giving a very low down, accurate, un directional & bass with no driver fatigu fit for music & movies. The cubes are a real compromise lacking in the high frequency & low mid frequence response but above average performance in terms of the size & placing versatility.
Summary: As a general rule, most serious audio publications won't review Bose products for two reasons, one: they don't want to get sued by Bose if Bose doesn't approve their review, and two: Bose won't be likely to approve most reviews. You see, Bose is more of a marketing company than an audio company. They put a lot of money into both their marketing departments and their legal departments. They have created and propagated a myth that Bose products possess magical properties.
