Summary: I recently purchased an entire line up of Bic America speakers for my 5.1 home theater. (4) Bic Formula FH-6T for Front & Rear L/R. (1) Bic Formula FH6-LCR for center. (1) Bic PL-200 subwoofer. The entire theater sounds pretty good. I am happy with it so I started looking into Bic's other speakers. The DV line has pretty good reviews so when I needed a pair of speakers for my computer I thought these would be great.
Summary: These speakers put out a nice clean and accurate sound with good volume levels due to their 90 db sensitivity. I am using these for surrounds as I had definite space limitations and feel these are the best sounding speakers for their size and price. BIC may not be a household name, however they make some very nice speakers that perform much better than what one might expect considering that they always cost less than the competition.
Summary: I use the BIC DV52si speakers as surround speakers for my sound system. The rest of my sound system consists of BIC DV62si fronts, BIC FH6-LCR Center, and a BIC F12 subwoofer all powered by a Denon 391 receiver. The DV52si speakers do a nice job rounding out the sound as surround/rear speakers, particularly in Dolby/DTS surround formats. I listen to my music in Multi Channel Stereo mode and these speakers do a nice job but it's all relative.
Summary: I bought these for my surround sound system that consists of all B.I.C. brand speakers. They do a really nice job as my surround speakers. I personally would not use these in a two channel setup, but in a surround system with the crossover set accordingly they actually do a nice job. They replaced some no name rummage sale speakers that I was using as my surrounds until I could find something that would fill the bill.
Summary: I purchased this speaker for outdoor use because of all of the positive reviews. I must say the reviews are correct. Because of the price value of this one speaker purchase, I will be updating my HTIB speaker system with BIC America. Hard to beat this sound for the money paid.
Summary: You just can't beat these speakers for the sound reproduction and the price. I am using them indoors so the outdoor capability did not influence my purchase. When I hooked them into my surround sound system (Yamaha 5.1 surround sound system) I was blown away with the results. You can spend a lot more money and not equal what you get with these BIC Americas. Also, they are small and easily mountable if you want to go that route.
Summary: Overall the sound was disappointing. The high end is weak and the sound is muddy. The speaker grilles are interchangeable for indoor or outdoor use but they are on so tight likely removing the grille will damage it. The instructions suggest hammering it off with an ice pick.
Summary: I have been extremely happy with the Bic center channel speaker I've owned for a year or so. I had been using the back surround speakers that came with my wifes Onkyo Theater in a box system. It is a 7-1 and we only use it as a 5-1 system. Well I knew that those speakers were marginal at best and I thought these would be an economical upgrade. Can't believe the difference in sound quality.
