They are great looking, solid and nice quality

L. Shweky, Amazon
  • Summary: They are great looking, solid and nice quality. They sound great in highs and mid, but very little bass. For the price and the 5 star reviews, I expected much more. But given their size, I'm not surprised.

Love everything about these

SpykeZ, Amazon
17 November 2014
  • Summary: Love everything about these. They look great and sound even better than what I've used before. I used to be a big metal head but getting these, just because they're so good at reproducing sounds, I've picked up jazz and classical and it's just...orgasms in my ear. I highly recommend getting speaker stands like the IsoAcoustics ISO-L8R130. They bring your speakers up to ear level and the sound just OPENS UP. The only downside isn't a downside at all.

Really great speaker, particularly for this price!

R. Austin, Amazon
23 October 2014
  • Summary: There are lots of pro reviews out there for these speakers, and I have to agree with the majority of them. These speakers are a huge bargan at $325. Crisp highs without being harsh Warm midrange Good bass for this size bookshelf speaker That said, if you really like to kick some bass filled music you'll want to add a subwofer.

Still in the 'break in' period but they sound good for casual listening

Bob, Amazon
15 August 2014
  • Summary: Still in the 'break in' period but they sound good for casual listening.... A little light on the bass but that's to be expected with a small speaker.

Rock On!

F. Snyder, Amazon
5 April 2014
  • Summary: I'm sure I have just average ears, if not worse than average. But for me, these speakers are the bomb. I'm using them with a new turntable to play 20 year old records and I'm hearing audio that I didn't hear "back in the day." I'm convinced that the Audioengine's play no small part. The build is solid, they look great, and sound awesome.

Nice speakers. Good sound. A little overpriced.

S. Sinha "Dallas Desi", Amazon
31 March 2014
  • Summary: Got them recently and swapped them out with my NHT SB1s I was using. These are nice (The NHTs have a better sound though. They are not very efficient and are larger). Good sound. Nice, tight bass. I am hearing things in the music I did not hear before. Though I like them, I felt that they are a little overpriced. They work very well with a T-Amp I have.

SQ/QC issues, but not a 'bad', if somewhat expensive speaker.

EZAS, Amazon
11 February 2014
  • Summary: Just a quick note: The Lepai amp is not a particularly good match for these speakers. These speakers can be bright, and the Lepai is a somewhat thin and grainy amp. ============================================ Packaging Construction and Look (my first set came with bad woofer, and I knocked a star off for that) They were packed really well. There was a shipping box and then a box in a box to hold the speakers, for 3 boxes total.

OK Speakers

mizzouXC, Amazon
7 February 2014
  • Summary: These speakers sound great for mids & highs, but completely lack any bass extension. Anything resembling mid-bass was also flabby sounding. The build quality is good on the speaker though. If you're using them on your desk, you'll need the DS2 desktop speaker stands. Also don't get the N22 amp, get the NAD D 3020 instead. the N22 amp is underpowered for these speakers. I have both.
