Really great speaker, particularly for this price!

Summary: There are lots of pro reviews out there for these speakers, and I have to agree with the majority of them. These speakers are a huge bargan at $325. Crisp highs without being harsh Warm midrange Good bass for this size bookshelf speaker That said, if you really like to kick some bass filled music you'll want to add a subwofer.
Summary: I'm sure I have just average ears, if not worse than average. But for me, these speakers are the bomb. I'm using them with a new turntable to play 20 year old records and I'm hearing audio that I didn't hear "back in the day." I'm convinced that the Audioengine's play no small part. The build is solid, they look great, and sound awesome.
Summary: Got them recently and swapped them out with my NHT SB1s I was using. These are nice (The NHTs have a better sound though. They are not very efficient and are larger). Good sound. Nice, tight bass. I am hearing things in the music I did not hear before. Though I like them, I felt that they are a little overpriced. They work very well with a T-Amp I have.
Summary: I just bought and married these up to the new Sony HighRes decoder/player and all I can say is WOW! these maybe the best bang for the buck speaker on the planet.....plus they look terrific. You cannot go wrong buying a set of these little gems.
SQ/QC issues, but not a 'bad', if somewhat expensive speaker.

Summary: Just a quick note: The Lepai amp is not a particularly good match for these speakers. These speakers can be bright, and the Lepai is a somewhat thin and grainy amp. ============================================ Packaging Construction and Look (my first set came with bad woofer, and I knocked a star off for that) They were packed really well. There was a shipping box and then a box in a box to hold the speakers, for 3 boxes total.
Summary: These speakers sound great for mids & highs, but completely lack any bass extension. Anything resembling mid-bass was also flabby sounding. The build quality is good on the speaker though. If you're using them on your desk, you'll need the DS2 desktop speaker stands. Also don't get the N22 amp, get the NAD D 3020 instead. the N22 amp is underpowered for these speakers. I have both.
Summary: Bought the P4's ( Bamboo finish ) Set everything up and let them break in a bit. Just some notes. They do sound pretty good, but for the price, there are much better options for sound quality. Zero Bass, and you NEED a sub for these to even out. You won't be blown away by the sound, but they do look very nice, and have a very nice finish and solid build. Highs are nice and clean, but if you use them without a sub, you will be wanting to buy a sub unit very soon.
