Summary: Great sound in a small package. I have them setup with the related Audioengine amp and DAC. While not an audiophile per se, I'm discerning about my music and appreciate the sound quality of these speakers. I have them on my fireplace mantle, and the whole setup to drive them is hidden behind a mantle clock. Very unobtrusive and the bamboo finish looks nice in the living room. No problem filling the space with these powerful speakers.
Surreal experience. One tiny, unbelievable pair of speakers.

Summary: These speakers could not be better. The clarity is perfect. I debated whether a product that already had a perfect 5 star rating from 15 people deserved another 5 stars, but I just cannot contain myself. The engineers who built these things deserve serious recognition. Also, one important note: I own both the Bamboo and non-Bamboo versions of the P4 speakers... and let me tell you the Bamboo ones sound twice as good and are absolutely worth the extra $100.
Summary: Clear, transparent and fairly accurate sound in a very compact box. Roughly Fibonacci box dimensions for golden ratio lovers. Got the Tripathi hybrid / module in a separate piece, thus the P4, which saved some money over the integrated amp version. Not as chic and minimalist as the integrated amp model, but nice to have an easy-to-reach analog pot to control the level. Have never tried them on anything other than a Tripathi based amp.
Summary: Took me a while to like these speakers. They sounded harsh at first. I finally mounted them at ceiling level separated by 25 feet. Even at the distance they show outstanding spatial imaging. Raising above the seating area reduces the high frequency harshness. I added a subwoofer and couldn't be happier with the overall sound.
Summary: I am totally disappointed with the sound coming from these so called 5 stars speakers. My mini amplifiers are Digital T-Amp (S.M.S.L SA-98E), FiiO A1, and cheap Lepai LP2020A+. I test the speakers with all the 3 amplifiers. Then I test the 3 amps with a pair of Polk Audio RM8 speakers, Klipsch quintet II series speakers. The Audio Engine speakers are the worst that I hear. Still do not believe my ears.
Same great sound, aesthetic-sensitive-spouse friendly!

Summary: This the second pair of A4s I've purchased, so clearly I'm sold on the sound. In short: these are extremely accurate monitors with surprising low-end punch. Like every Audioengine product, they are exceptionally well built. So long as you don't poke something through the drivers, they will take anything you throw at them. My first pair of A4s were black, and they blend into the entertainment system nicely.
Summary: this is a quick review, but they sound as good as i expected, they're exceptionally well-made, and they also look terrific. if you've got kids, these do not have grills at all, and there's none available for it, so they might not be a good idea. kids just love pressing in the domes too much...
Summary: I consider myself a growing audiophile and have tried over the last several years to purchase speakers with good reviews and that sound good to me. In this case, I bought these without listening to them first and was blown away when they arrived. The sound is bright, but not tinny. I'm hearing things in songs that I've never noticed before.
