Do not buy if you are overseas.

Tom Sawyer, Amazon
19 May 2014
  • Summary: This review covers *two* purchases of this sub. Both times the sub was faulty. I suspect this is because the sub does not survive the overseas trip. Both purchases were fully through amazon, via the "global expedited" selection. It should be noted that, at least for the first return, amazon.com covered the *very* expensive return price tag ($220 USD!) because I was shipping this internationally.

Great Value. Great Performance.

  • Summary: My previous "high end" powered subwoofer was muddy, and generally had a bad attitude ... it would rumble as if it had eaten something disagreeable. The Atlantic Technology SB-900-BLK has been performing perfectly, whether for movies, concerts or just playing music through the system. I recommend this subwoofer. Great value and great performance.

Beautiful marriage of impressive power and small size. Well done, Atlantic Technology.

  • Summary: There's a lot I can and will probably say about this woofer. But I want to make one point cleanly. I had a very expensive subwoofer die many years ago. It was wonderful. 12" box, intensely powerful without losing clarity and control, highly attractive, and you could push it as far as you might reasonably (or even unreasonably) desire without it turning on you.

Very happy with quality & price point, especially the small size!

Modern Blue Argonaut "No I do not have a shoe..., Amazon

  • Summary: My family is a music family! Although I used to be an audiophile years ago, lately I keep things simple and have downsized my DCM speakers to some smaller Martin Logan bookshelf speakers and overall have downsized and eliminated components. This subwoofer surprisingly puts out a very nice bass. It can be heard throughout the house (and I suspect outside as well). My kids really enjoy the sub and it's given so much depth and feeling to the music we listen too.

Combine it with the FS-7.1-GLB sound bar

error, Amazon
16 August 2012
  • Summary: I have the Atlantic Technology FS-7.1-GLB Soundbar (which in and of itself is a great product). I combined it with this subwoofer to produce some really great quality sound. However, I must note, that unless the room you are using this combination is a four-walled room (i.e. no open spaces that connect the living room, to say the kitchen) you will NOT get the same kind of quality surround sound as you would in an enclosed room due to the way the units function.

A solid, quality subwoofer - strong performance in a compact design

Snap, Crackle and Pop, Amazon
31 July 2012
  • Summary: The Atlantic Technology SB-900 front-firing subwoofer is a well-designed and well-built compact subwoofer, from a reliable company. It's a good option for those looking for full-range sound for music or to add some impact to home theater in a small- to medium-sized room. YOU NEED A SUB: While you can certainly get much-better-than-TV-quality sound with small speakers and soundbars, you can't get a true home theater experience without a subwoofer.

Ugly duckling that rocks

J. Luu, Amazon
25 July 2012
  • Summary: This is a very basic subwoofer. It's a front facing bass reflex design with a forward facing port. Construction is MDF with the typical matte black crinkle finish. Not a very good looking subwoofer, luckily it's just over a cubic foot in size. I have it near a corner in a 14x17' room. After the necessary adjustments, I'm very pleased with the sound.
